Should fit that hybrid DE/LB role. Hopefully Zhaiylen Scott stays because I think he’s a perfect fit as well. Better fit in Cassity’s front than he was in Caponi’s

For those leaving because Caponi is no longer here…good riddance. If they couldn’t see how terrible they were, that’s on them.

I think a guy that would have torn it up, in Cassity's system.....would have been Mazin Richards. He was so good his junior year, then Caponi and the new system.....turned him into a non-entity.

Absolutely

People on this board are quick to scream quitter when a player announces their transfer, and now they're stupid if they don't quit before the coach is fired. lol

Hmm, this didn't autocorrect to "transferer".

Caponi as a play caller was terrible, but he very well could have created meaningful relationships with these recruits. These are just kids, and maybe they connected well with Caponi on a 1-1 level. Personally don’t see the need to bash them

If they respect Caponi and want to follow him, then so be it. I’m not bashing them for that. All I know is what was here wasn’t working. If they want to continue down that route we’ve seen for two miserable years, I’m sure we can fill the void they’ve left easily.

Realistically, I don't see any players leaving to follow Caponi.  Upset that a good man failed and got canned? That's more believable.

If anything, an opportune time for change/new scenery.

That was the point I was ultimately trying to make. The defensive unit, holistically, was not good. If they want to follow him, I would question their football mentality and wouldn’t be averse to losing them.
