I’m curious if he’s going to get the same money as the previous DC? He doesn’t need to make this defense top 25 (although that would be great) I just want this defense to be credible, middle of the pack, that should make us dramatically better if the offense continues to improve under Morris in year 3.

My cousin has been a loyal booster for Sam Houston for a long time. Back in the early eighties I took many a trip to Huntsville for football and basketball games with him. He is still active and traveled with the team to several games this year. He told me today that their defense is what kept them in many games this year. He said this hire should be a nice one for us. He said Keeler was good to head back to Pennsylvania and also they upped his salary a million over what he was making. Maybe now at 1.6

Okay…now that’s kind of crazy if we are paying him 1.6 million. That’s pretty risky…for that amount of money I would think we could have hired someone who has a proven track record at a higher level than CUSA.

I read it as Keeler is making 1.6 million at Temple.

I can't find the part in the article where this brave young man explains why he is willing to come work under a lame duck coach.

“I have extremely high expectations for our new defensive unit, and I believe this is the right place to achieve those goals. I look forward to competing for championships, and I wouldn't be here if I didn't believe Coach Morris was the guy to lead us in that direction. My work has already started, and I look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone in the Mean Green family.”

Would you say Keeler made a bad hire if he convinced Cassity to come to Philly? Because he tried.

Says who? Some guy who raises cattle and doubles as a journalist on gomeangreen.com? Where's the source.

I'll tell you this, Temple's DC in 2022, Darin "DJ" Eliot, had a salary of $527k, about $50k more than Caponi. I know that's shocking considering our "insider" said Caponi was the highest paid G5 coordinator. Do you think Cassity really just wanted stay in Texas at all cost that he'd be willing to take less money? Say Temple pays their next DC what Eliot made in 2022, about 530k, and we pay Cassity about 470k like Caponi, do you think Cassity really likes Texas enough to lose that 60k (about 11.5% less in pay)? I don't. There's more to this but y'all are all gobbling up this claim on a forum that Cassity just had to stay in Texas. Again, where's the source?

Attached is Temple's official list of highest paid employees in 2022. Temple doesnt have the list up for calendar year 2023 yet.

Alright guy... you're a a complete piece! You're clearly calling out JD, who gives the best insight for unt football out there. Theres no 2nd place. I didn't read anything else you typed; it's not worth reading. You had your feelings hurt by him earlier. UNT hasn't had much local media, to trash the one dude that gives actual insight as a part time thing is a bitch ass move

Your problem if you didn't read it. I brought up numbers from Temple's financial statements. They pay their DCs better than we ever have yet you want me to believe Cassity just absolutely wanted to come to UNT. Ok, bud.

Well guess what? Pennsylvania has a 3% flat income tax on top of the fact that Philadelphia is infinitely more expensive to live in than Denton. But I guess you didn't factor that in. On top of living away from your entire family and the place you call home.

I see you're just trolling... you clearly have your own inside sources. What's Cassity's salary.  You seem to know everything. I really hope you're a seaon ticket holder and a NIL donnar with all this shit you talk.

Wow a 3% income tax. On average Texas has a higher property tax rate that PA. Ours max sales tax is also about 2% higher. We can play this game all night. Bottom line is Temple has always paid more than us but now we're supposed to believe UNT is paying more or for whatever reason, he just wanted to stay in Texas? Shoot, Temple is apparently already paying Keeler $300k more than we pay Morris. Really?

His family is from Kentucky and his dad still lives there (public record). I believe his wife is from Texas. So no, he wouldnt be moving from his entire family.

And my own inside sources? It's literally on Temple's website. Here:

Temple University

https://finance.temple.edu › F...PDF

Officers and Top 200 Salaries.xlsx

https://finance.temple.edu/finance/right-know

Go down to "select salary information" and pick your year. For a PHD, you sure do little research.

It's actually 3.75 in Philly.  Again, not that big of a hit, but adding in the fed 35%, the additional 60k is now closer to 36k and the higher cost of living will eat up a large portion of that.

This is a ridiculous take. JD works hard not only on his sourcing but providing great contact on his Patreon page and for Go Mean Green! Just because you disagree doesn’t mean you need to be rude and take person shots at someone. We are lucky to have JD and his inside connections. Stop being rude and ridiculous
