Way too early, had a checkered career; but seems to get the best out of his usually overmatched teams.

RIP Dana. Too young indeed. He worked his craft his whole life. A short life well lived.

He was a very nice guy by all accounts.

 

 

Even though coaching at UH didn't work out, he was a good recruiter. Many of the best players on Briles' first teams were Dimel recruits.

He was a good offensive coach. He started the clown car formation which is basically the tush push now. He had U of H on the verge of good things but they fired him and Briles won with his three years worth of recruits.

So sad.  It always seemed as though he was well liked by the other coaches around the league and seemed like a good guy from the few times I heard him talk.
