Standards?!?!? We don't need any fricking standards, just #hit6 and go bowling. Everybody is excited and the HC gets a bonus and extension. Just be happy we have a team and the VM works at the AD's office

The next coach's contract.....shouldn't have dick in it, about a bonus for bowl eligibility. They're too damn easy to get into in this day and age. 82 out of 134 teams make bowls. Some standard. If you want to have incentives in the contract for x numbers of wins.....starting with at least 7 wins....and going up...that would be fine for me. But the bonus for bowl eligibility....when it's just six wins....is ridiculous. At least if the standard is 7 wins or more....you'd at least have a winning season. If Keebler loses the bowl, we gave him $35,000 for going 6-7.

I think Appy State will regret this move. When teams fire someone for not winning enough at places like Appy State, it usually backfires.  USM fired Jeff Bower after he finally had a losing season, then went 0-12 under the replacement. La Tech has fallen off after firing Skip Holtz. FIU did the same thing when they fired Mario Cristobal way back when.

Story makes no mention of having to deal with the devastation and disruption brought on by Hurricane Helene this season. App State and Boone NC were hit hard.

Good point. And I guess that's why ASU only played 11 games....as they had a game with Liberty cancelled.

Entire salary should be based on winning percentage!   6-6 means you get half your salary..  8-4 you get 75%.. NO bonus unless you win the bowl game then I'd pay $100,000 (if you have one of those 1-11 years well it's ramen noodle time)

so we're only hiring pharmaceutical reps and car salesmen as football coaches from now on. commission-based athletic departments.

Programs that know who they are have the most sustained success. For example: I admire the way Oklahoma State found a coach that works for them and stuck with it. They know they’re not a perennial contender but they’re good enough to make some noise every now and then. Could they risk what they have going by trying to get a coach to “get them over the hump?” Sure. But is it worth the risk of cratering? Obviously they haven’t thought so.

How Boise-esque of them. I'm jealous, and wish we had such standards in Denton.

Maybe one day we will have great leadership too.

Exactly what I was going to say. Some programs, even G5s, demand excellence.

I dont see the logic in firing a coach just a couple days before the transfer portal opens, especially a G5 program that will see a lot of transfers.

They had 500,000 reasons ($).

"Clark's buyout dropped from $1 million to $500,000 on Monday..."

I have zero social media. Is this true? Does Morris block our fans?

No, they were discussing our so-called beat writer Vito.

Don't we have a beat writer?

He’s blocked half the UNT fan base too. JD is 100% prompt and reliable.
