Sincere question…Does anyone think Chandler Rogers is enrolled at CAL for no longer than a year and already qualifies for a degree ?   A check, maybe.  But I can’t imagine anyone graduating from anywhere, as mobile as he has been in college, in one year.

These committed / un-committed posters should have players in generic uniforms with changeable backgrounds.... no limits... obviously.

And change the headline

adjective
adjective: committed
  1. feeling dedication and loyalty to a cause, activity, or job; wholeheartedly dedicated.

I guess I'm missing your point.  Did he mention that he was graduating from Cal?

Go back and read the 8th post in this thread.  Houston Eagle says, “…get a degree from CAL Berkeley instead of UNT.”

I’m simply asking if it’s possible to earn a degree in 1 year at CAL having attended 4 schools previous to enrolling at CAL.

Yeah, this makes it sound difficult.  There's a lot of requirements stipulated on transfers, but somehow, I suspect they get ignored if the transfer is a good athlete or member of a big donor family.

There's a lot to digest here, but some interesting tidbits:

https://www.admissions.berkeley.edu/apply-to-berkeley/transfer-students/transfer-requirements/

Quote

Berkeley only accepts applications for the fall term. The UC Application is available in August the year prior to the fall term you are applying for

Students who have completed UC-transferable coursework at any four-year institution at any point in time may be ineligible for admission if they exceed the unit maximum policy for admission.
...

Unit maximum admissions policy:

  • After applying the UC lower-division maximum transfer credit limitation policy, all junior/senior (upper division) and all UC units (lower division and upper division) are added to that total unit count. If the resulting unit count exceeds 80 semester units (120 quarter units), the student is ineligible for admission.

To your point, I highly doubt he earned a degree in one year.  That said,  IF academics is important to him then he should be happy to be enrolled and able to finish out a degree no matter how much longer it takes him.  It's a good place to finish and have that name on your diploma.

I disagree. It's pretty well known that universities are diploma mills for athletes, particularly revenue sport athletes. The name of the institution name on his degree will open up more job interview opportunities, sure. But then he will have to go perform in said interview and actually land the position. Then, perform. Not saying he doesn't have the mental aptitude to do just that. But I am certainly not saying that he does. My point, it's a foregone conclusion that so many of these dudes are just pushed through to maintain eligibility. What are they actually learning? How many have taken exclusively online classes? We say these things, "oh, he'll have this degree from this place", without bringing context to their reality.
