I call BS on anyone here that would not have accepted a 200-300k to go finish your football career and get a degree from Cal Berkeley instead of UNT.  He was not ever going pro but that money and degree will potentially put him on a better path.

disclosure: I have no idea what he was paid but I think that would be a reasonable sum in the current market for a G5 to P4 QB.

I don’t disagree that everyone would take the money if given the chance. I think you are very naive to think that a kid at the top of the qb rankings didn’t think this move to Cal wouldn’t help him go pro.

They are having buyer's remorse.

I don't care what happens to them after they leave....

I think it's rather amusing and telling to see what happens to them. Information like this is key to selling and rebuilding a brand. Plus, just straight fun stuff to know.

G5 programs need to put this stuff up in their locker rooms and start beating it into their players heads how unlikely it is that players do better after transferring. Signs of players with their UNT stat lines and then their next years stat lines would be quite eye opening. Even if you had to hang a few success stories, they would be far outnumbered by the failure stories like Rogers and Maclin, who went from 57 catches for 1,004 yards with UNT to 13/313 and sitting at home for bowl season with Kentucky.

Since this is an indirect shot at me, I will answer you directly.

1.  I don't have a problem with differing views, but when pushed on me as "take it or leave it", I'll leave it.

2.  I don't have an issue with unisex bathrooms as long as they are single use.  If it is a large bathroom that multiple people can use, then they should be based off of the two biological genders, male and female.  People should use the one they align with biologically and not how they "identify".

Last night in the LA Bowl, the starter Mendoza was out with an injury. Cal started the 3rd string QB and also played the 4th string QB. Rogers never stepped on the field.

He entered the Portal Dec. 11.

California Golden Bears starting quarterback Fernando Mendoza is one of the most sought-after names in the transfer portal. Although Cal has added former Ohio QB CJ Harris, a Mendoza-sized void remains as the Golden Bears prepare for 2025 and a second season in the ACC.3 days ago

Oh they said on the broadcast he was out, just assume injury. Either way, I hope the check cleared for Rogers.

These committed / un-committed posters should have players in generic uniforms with changeable backgrounds.... no limits... obviously.

Yep, and Penn is ranked ahead of Cal and look what it produced.

Enjoyed reading this one because it doesn't seem to use the "fill in the blank" most use.  Similar ideas but actually sounded as if it came from an unique individual.  Hope he finds a good fit.
