I call BS on anyone here that would not have accepted a 200-300k to go finish your football career and get a degree from Cal Berkeley instead of UNT.  He was not ever going pro but that money and degree will potentially put him on a better path.

disclosure: I have no idea what he was paid but I think that would be a reasonable sum in the current market for a G5 to P4 QB.

Cal Berkeley is a cesspool.

Ranked 17th in the country academically. Love my university but I'd take that degree in a heartbeat

I don’t disagree that everyone would take the money if given the chance. I think you are very naive to think that a kid at the top of the qb rankings didn’t think this move to Cal wouldn’t help him go pro.

They are having buyer's remorse.

I don't care what happens to them after they leave....

I think it's rather amusing and telling to see what happens to them. Information like this is key to selling and rebuilding a brand. Plus, just straight fun stuff to know.

G5 programs need to put this stuff up in their locker rooms and start beating it into their players heads how unlikely it is that players do better after transferring. Signs of players with their UNT stat lines and then their next years stat lines would be quite eye opening. Even if you had to hang a few success stories, they would be far outnumbered by the failure stories like Rogers and Maclin, who went from 57 catches for 1,004 yards with UNT to 13/313 and sitting at home for bowl season with Kentucky.
