Don't care what the records say, there's no reason to lose this team. We're just playing like garbage and have nobody stepping. Just a roster full of role players.

Maybe somebody on the bench should be given a shot? Or maybe we can just keep grinding, winning close games we should lose and losing close games we should win.

Imagine getting in for the first time in a 4 point game with 20 seconds left because 4 guys gave fouled out. I like Hodge but his rotation style is a joke and will cost us games.

That ol' cliche comes to mind: There's going to be like 2 games you win that you shoulda lost, and 2 other games you lose that you shoulda won.

This is potential bubble talk killer, and frustrating as hell.

It's too early to have one of the losses we should have won. It's just going to be an average year.

Missing an A Scott who can guard all 5 positions and missing a scorer who can take over. This is as average of a primary rotation as we've had recently. Not bad, just nobody stands out either.

The only game I missed this year was Mcneese.  I thought we looked better this year than last.  But this game has me concerned.  No depth little talent in paint and no one in the backcourt is stepping forward.  This looks like a middle of pack AAC team that I hoped would be top 5.

This team has looked better than last year's team until tonight. Will agree this is a really bad loss, but remember last year's bunch lost to a 13-20 Fordham team on a neutral site. Super disappointing tonight for sure.

      Non-scholarship level? You know that's D3, right? To the general sentiment of your point, I tend to agree. UNT football is sort of a joke punchline. I was never sure it would ever do much, but I was somewhat hopeful. With the landscape the way it is, I am all but certain that UNT football will never be much of a anything. Even if we one day have a 2016 Western Michigan type year the market conditions would breakdown our roster as fast as humanly possible. It is literally impossible, with our terrible support and low football NIL to ever have even a smidgen of sustainability. Frankly, as I've said before, given our recruiting pecking order throughout the state and region we will never even sniff a 2016 WMU type season, IMO. I'm not sure how anyone could dispute this outside of ignorance/hope. So, the university athletics is clearly standing at a Y in the road... What to do? Keep kicking the can down the street and faking it while trying to swindle any possible donor they can? Or make wholesale changes to dress our athletic front porch up. From the looks of it, our basketball program might be heading back down into mediocrity... Are we going to do anything about it? Or just be bad to mediocre in EVERYTHING we do?

      Ugly truth is we have no chance whatsoever the way the system is set up right now. The University sure won't pony up and neither with the donor based on the hires we have made.

      More than 4 decades ago Corky Nelson told a meeting that North Texas highest aspiration could only be to become the best of the bottom 100 programs in D- 1 , anything else was delusional. Corky saved football at North Texas with dedicated coaches that could operate on very limited resources. Do not deceive yourself that this program can exist even in FCS form w/o football. Any attempt to drop football will only result to a drop to non scholarship competition. This level of athletics for a school the size of NT would be a disgrace and make us even more the laughingstock of this state

      Spring Practice Updates

      My question is how does this effect their academics? Does he stay through the end of the semester, or does he leave once he enters the portal? Once entering the portal, any aid from North Texas should cease immediately as well as any NIL payments.
