Ohio State hasn't beaten Michigan in like 1200 days but they're still going to the playoff. What other fun calendar games we playing.

We essentially tripped backwards into what will be the worst bowl game thanks to temple being god awful. Half the teams get a bowl game. If this is "being on the right track" then I think I would like to take another train

We did just as much of a "complete reset" roster-wise this season as we did last season.  And with the current level of roster turnover in college football, we can pretty much expect a "complete reset" every year.  I'm not calling for Coach Morris to be fired or anything, but I need to see something better than a .500 record to be convinced that we're on the right track.

There will be a roster reset every year going forward, 2023 was a complete program reset with new coaches and virtually no recruiting momentum.

Going by that, Seth Littrell had a far better complete reset after two years than Eric Morris.  Littrell took a team that was absolutely terrible the year before to 5-8 in year 1 and 9-5 in year 2.

I'm hoping for a bowl win and significant improvement in year 3 of the Morris regime.  We shall see.

bowl games have even less meaning now with the expanded playoff.

Not only that, we only had 3 conference wins and those wins came against teams that were a combined 4-20 in conference and 9-27 overall.

We should go on those teams' boards regularly to declare our superiority, but what kind of person would actually do that???

      Do I need to go into another rant about how we didn't start our endowment fund until 1974 or 75. It was AGAINST OUR CULTURE TO RAISE OUTSIDE MONIES. When we finally caught on, we were 84 years behind just about everyone else. BUT most of the administrators still didn't want North Texas to change. Around the time that "Jitter Nolan" and Hayden Fry arrived we were the complete opposite of SMU. They loved their money, and we loved our bureaucracy. And that is mostly still true today. SMU resents that they were punished for what just about all the other SWC schools were doing. And that is somewhat valid. But my assessment of what went down starts with the fact that everyone dislikes and/or hates SMU and it culminated with their ham handed, and arrogant, system of paying players. SO, once again, SMU was treated unfairly, but they pretty much brought it on themselves. Just about everyone hated you then.......and pretty much still does.

      That was actually for 2017. I looked at the wrong year... they were 79th for 2018-2019 calendar year. Middle of the pack in the ACC.       First College Net Rankings released

      that Jan 5 game is setting up to be super important as it's looking like possibly our only other shot at a Quad 1 win. plus for some of you, it could be a convenient stop on your roadtrip...looks like Memphis is about a third of the way to DC...might wanna get on the road after the game to catch the daytime reunion activities, but either way I'm sure the party will be going well into the night

      Good point. And I guess that's why ASU only played 11 games....as they had a game with Liberty cancelled.
