Charlotte  finished 5-7 overall. Yea...so they won one more conference game...but they did beat ECU.

we finished 9 th in the conference,  should we really be in a bowl game?

Not a bet, but maybe the ideal choice: the Hawaii Bowl.  The players would be "rewarded" with a great trip, there would be no need to make excuses for the lack of attendance, and the opponent (obviously not Hawaii this year) might be another 6-6 team (and hopefully not a blowout).

Any bowl situation but this...

North Texas fans will stay home. Texas State will travel and have a home field advantage in our backyard. And we will lose. Morris has not beaten a team with a winning record this season. I pray the AAC has enough sense than to hurt our conference by arranging this match-up.

I absolutely am praying for this.  A massive beat down in our back yard by a school in the state of Texas that wished it had our advantages.  We should be discussing if the new head coach will be coaching in our bowl.    Since that isn’t the case anything to accelerate the inevitable firing of EM, I am in favor of.

I’m kind of hoping we play TxSt so many on here can see that they won’t “beat us down” (or various other ways of saying they will beat us bad) or that I can be proven wrong if they do.  I never thought I’d see the day that we are scared of TxSt, especially when I don’t see a reason that we should be.  We’re scared of a 7-5 team from the Sun Belt????

Riding high on a 5 game winning streak the 2013 Mean Green team lost to 3 year old program UTSA in Denton.  The Mean Green had just dominated UTEP 41-7 and had extra rest before putting up 13 points in a 21-13 loss to UTSA.  So it isn’t being scared this UNT team has s poorly coached so we can lose to anyone.

“A massive beat down” or “we can lose to anyone”?  Seems like a huge difference.

Yeah, don't want Texas State. I was fine waiting till 2026 when hopefully Kinne is hired away and they are rebuilding before we play them again. Morris will still be here next season so why would I want us to lose to another program who's supposed to be below us in front a pro-TXST crowd despite being 35 miles from our campus?

Frisco Bowl vs. Western Michigan.  The writing is on the wall.

I doubt this means anything but it would be interesting, since we will play them next September in Kalamazoo. Essentially turn a home-and-home into a 2-and-1 for the same price (although we won't play in Denton until 2031).

This is so sad…because it is so correct. We will get run in a bowl game by Texas State in Frisco in front of more of their fans from 4 hours south than our campus 40 minutes away.

Hold on... TXST may not have a head coach by the bowl announcements.

What if the interview is for a Texas asst instead?

Western Michigan rumored to be considered for two other Bowls instead...

Camellia Bowl
Cramton Bowl (Montgomery, Alabama)
9 p.m., ESPN

Bonagura: East Carolina vs. James Madison
Schlabach: Western Michigan vs. Arkansas State

Hawai'i Bowl
Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex (Honolulu)
8 p.m., ESPN

Bonagura: Western Kentucky vs. Western Michigan
Schlabach: Liberty vs. Ohio

Exactly.  Being blown out by another Texas program that is typically ranked beneath us would be the ultimate way to unravel any positive momentum of getting into a bowl game in the first place.  Over two seasons, Morris is 0-9 vs FBS teams that finished the regular season with a winning record and 1-2 against those that finished 6-6.  We shouldn't be favored against any team, but if we play someone like 6-6 Western Michigan, it should at least be competitive--and the negative effects of losing would be pretty minimal.  It would have no effect on our standing with our potential recruits.

Keep in mind that the Frisco Bowl is going to happen one week after the portal opens, which means the week leading up to it will be filled with announcements of our players leaving (along with the two weeks following it).  Getting an absolute kick to the crotch in that game that we might be playing with a bunch of backups on offense could really set things back, heading into the offseason.

This is fine, I guess.

I'm kinda with everyone else saying we shouldn't root for a TXSt. matchup.
It's one of those scenarios where it's really bad for us if we lose, and "eh" if we win.    This should be a LATech/LAMo scenario where we attempt to stonewall that effort for literally anything else.

Honestly, I like this option best.    This spares many of our fans from having to witness in person (and also saves NT the embarrassment of a poor turnout in our own backyard), and if you happen to be rich enough to fly out to HI for a bowl game, at least you're in HI!

Exactly what I meant.
