Since running game is being successful, guess its a good time to start practicing the pass again.

Morris and Morris got get those offensive stats, winning a game be damned

SL didn't have to deal with NIL and the portal

He didn't have to deal with NIL but he absolutely did have to deal with the portal. Maybe not in the same way but I can think of a couple twins who are both currently on NFL rosters yet some celebrated leaving UNT because of a few bad penalties.

The college game keeps evolving and with change comes opportunity.
The head coaching job now is a lot different than when SL was here.

Football tactics and strategies continue to evolve too and much of the offensive plays that SL ran to become successful have been figured out by defenses. Considering SL has already been fired from his next job, it is likely his tenure here would have continued to go downhill as well.

Why do we have to explain this?  Mediocre over 7 years and below 0.500 against FBS competition.  Nothing special and without massive changes in the quality of players we got, a mediocre coach isn’t winning the AAC as presently constructed.

Yeah, but the guy has been coaching at Incarnate Word and North Texas…

That’s not exactly Georgia and Alabama. Almost all coaches would be below .500 against FBS competition at Incarnate Word and North Texas.

Especially operating under the rule sets Eric Morris has been operating under with the resources at his disposal.

Unless something crazy happens, he is going to get three seasons. You might as well enjoy the ride.

A bowl victory this year followed by an 8 or 9 win season and Morris is suddenly looking pretty good.

You guys are turning off the movie before finding out if the good guy wins.

The 7 years is referring to Seth Littrell.  Coaches at North Texas aren’t at a disadvantage compared to most of our conference foes.  We constantly have low expectations and excuses for coaches coming here.  This team won’t win 8 games next year.
