What does it mean to "deserve" a bowl game during an era when every six-win team goes to a bowl? Winning ugly is still winning, and if we win a bowl, this season isn't a total loss. Seth Littrell's teams never could.

If the other team is actually motivated with 90% of their best players not opting out, you think we win?   And if that isn't that case and they beat a mediocre team at 65% that doesn't really want to be there what does that bowl win actually mean?

Yes, we beat a very poor Temple team.  I have to wonder how much better the record would have been if we had our full stable of running backs.

we were ravaged and were in reality playing our numbers 5,6 and 7 backs.

One the bright side, we now have deep experience in our stable.

Unless one those guys are on their way to be a pick in the first 3 rounds of the NFL draft they can't fix our OL getting blown up in short yardage.  None of the backs I saw this year carrying the ball for us were lacking athletically.  The starters coming back should be better but not +35% better.  And if we don't have an under center packake it doesn't matter.  The OL will need to improve also.

If we do go to The Frisco Bowl, The Athletic Department is already working on some travel packages.

Which basically means, just getting us all an Uber.

Not trying to rain on the parade.....but if you read this....not sure we'd be guaranteed a bowl. Depends I guess on how many of these others win.

The AAC has 8 bowl eligible teams. Not sure they have enough ties for everyone. If there are more eligible teams than spots, not sure how much horse trading will happen.

That is Uber XL Elite sir!  Don't short change our innovative forward thinking Athletic Department.  I heard they might introduce an embossed dark green SOW on a light green helmet with silver/white highlights for the bowl game   🤣

I'm so happy for our kids. Some of whom have never experienced the culture of a place....like Frisco.

When we were 5-1 that’s what the higher ups were planning on as they decided to cut back on expenses including taking the band to the UTSA game and start pushing for a local bowl. Nothing wrong with playing in a local bowl where we can send the band and students. It’s preferred by most at the university.

I hope the players get to play in a bowl but boy would it be beautiful for EM and the athletic department to be left out of a bowl after how they backed into a 6-6 record. Being held scoreless for basically 3 quarters to barely beat a 3-9 team on the final game of the season does not deserve praise.

This will be bookmarked for when I am asked by my family and friends why I finally stopped going to UNT Football games.

I hate to say it, but we really don't deserve a bowl game.

Well post 2000 FBS landscape with media outlets starving for live content that isn't as expensive as NFL, NBA, or NHL says we do.  I never thought we would see FBS/FCS football on Tuesdays or Wednesdays either.  But the seller and buyers were equally desperate to make it happen. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Feel free to stop by the locker room and let these guys know.

you don’t have to like how the season went (most don’t).  You don’t have to think the coaches did the job that was expected of them (most don’t). But you can’t S on the players for achieving and celebrating a milestone, no matter how unworthy you think it might be.

Be better.

How is it shitting on the players to say the team shouldn't go to a bowl game.  We know damn well this staff will not put them in a position to win, and likely get them embarrassed on national TV.

Kiss my ass.

Not sure how you took his comment as a direct shot at the players? And he’s objectively right. We don’t really “deserve” it. Barely, and I mean BARELY going .500 is nothing to pound our chest about. We started this season 5-1. This has been a colossal disappointment. We’re fans - we fund this perpetually disappointing program (today’s performance included). We can literally criticize anything we want.

You be better.
