It isn't a good base defense.  It was a gimmick that had a run when spread offenses first started going crazy.  You need an especially talented joker position player and 3 good down lineman to run it as base.  But a solid d-line is the foundation of any good defense so there is nothing special about it but the talent running it.  And if an offense is committed to the run and decent at it you can force a team out of the 3-3-5.

Well, not enumerating eggs but it appears that UNT will indeed go to the Tidy Bowl equivalent this season.  Anyone have any solid ideas where that might be?
