Has the football program abandoned the winged helmet over the “North Texas” script permanently?

Reminds me of when they overdid the “NT” throwback logo

We need to commit to something we can build on for the long haul. Win or lose, the goal should be making our logo and brand recognizable nationwide—not something niche or small-time.

I'm not sold on the "North Texas" helmet to be used for this purpose, the wings are more aesthetic, but if we decide to go this route, let's please be consistent.

I like the script. I like the wings, too. I would have preferred the wings for Saturday, but its fine.

I like revisiting some old designs, but prefer that we have something to fall back on, and that it is the wings.

The wings were used earlier in the year.  After the decals were swapped out for the script to recognize the team from that era, seems they made the equipment team’s lives easier by not going back for the remaining games.  I think people are reading too much into it.

Winning should be the focus, not consistent helmet decals, win or lose.  Someone needs to take a gander at the top ranked team in the country right now.

I like the script. But special edition helmets should be just that.. special. We have the propensity to run cool things into the ground by overusing them. 
 

Wing helmet should be the helmet for 90% of the season with a sprinkling of throwbacks and “fun” decals.

I don't really have an opinion on logos or colors. Branding and tradition don't mean jack squat for a university.

I guess not caring would make me qualified to be in charge of North Texas uniforms.

Oregon can fk off.  It's not their logo either.

 

But, if they can beat the ever loving shit out of t.u. and/or $mut, if they unfortunately make the playoffs, then we can talk about a compromise on not using the wings on the helmet.

Yes, but one could argue that is style.
