Why doesn’t the tournament have 8 teams? I’m curious since it seems like Minnesota and Wichita State played in the same area in a separate four team tournament. Why not make it 8 teams? I honestly couldn’t find an answer all day. Some say it’s two separate  brackets but others say it’s two different tournaments. The games have been titled different which doesn’t help.

The other four teams are in the ESPN Events Invitational. We're the NIT Season Tip-Off. The other bracket unfortunately has more of the big boys: Minnesota, Florida, Wake Forest, and Wichita.

Yes but it’s confusing as to why they aren’t the same. Pretty sure it use to be 8 when it was in NYC. 4 team tourney doesn’t make a lot of sense. Especially when they are this close. Should merge it.

It used to be more like 8 or even 16 teams where the semis and finals were in NYC.

More of the big boys? UNT, Utah State, and St Bonaventure can play with all of those teams.

They can but to a casual fan wins over any of those other 4 programs would turn more heads than the teams on our side.

And we literally beat one of them (Minnesota) at their house this year.

Yes, just confusing as to why it went to 4 and then a delegate event being held in the same area. Doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Thankful for the NET this Thanksgiving since the rankings don't care about what the casuals think.
