They pulled the plug on the coach. Now do the football coach

Not sure why you got a down vote for posting this. Seems like a reasonable request of our AD.

Our volleyball coach actually had a winning record in conference play (27-24). That is much more than I can say for Morris, since he is 5-10 in conference play.

Hopefully, Mosley will pull the plug on the Morris era tomorrow.

He gave her 3 years. Wonder if that will apply to football

It shouldn't. Football and basketball are the premium sports. Bigger paychecks should demand bigger results. Morris has shown me no growth and nothing that merits him deserving a third year to F things up again.

What a roller coaster of a season for the ladies. Struggle through an absolutely loaded nonconference season. The tough schedule looks like it's worth it by winning your first three, and five of your first seven in the AAC. Then lose seven straight, including two to Memphis, one to UAB, and Temple. Then randomly beat two of the best teams in the conference the last weekend of the regular season to clinch a top 8 seed.

As said in another thread, haven't heard good things about Porter from player parents. But to be fair, it's probably not easy attracting the top talent in Texas to play D1 ball in a church gym.

My opinion: move the team to the Super Pit. Get your sponsors to pay for their own tarps to cover up the upper levels. The environment won't be the same initially but I can bet you it'll be easier to get more than a "friends and family" crowd, and I'll also bet you most on-campus students couldn't tell you where the volleyball team currently plays.

I’ve tried to watch a lot of volleyball, and the team just flat wasn’t good this season. Losing a lot to graduation was a big reason. Last year was fun to watch. Not the same talent this season. We got a couple of nice players, but we definitely need height.

Yeah we definitely need to move. I have gone to a few games and it is way to crowded. They run out of seats quickly and the ceiling is way too low.

Is the Snake Pit still a thing? That room would rock.

Buddy......we played there at one time. In the 90s, I think. And our coach then, was Pono Tuinei.....wife of Dallas Cowboys OT Mark Tuinei.

Matt noted the Super Pit.....they played some games there at the first of the season.

As to Coach Porter....she was an absolute sweetheart. I wish her nothing but the best.

I have been really curious about converting that into a women's arena for basketball/volleyball like Memphis has, but I've never been in there? What's its current condition? Could it be renovated to be a respectable barn for women's basketball/volleyball?

I recall seeing two MBB games in the Snake Pit. I believe there was some sort of conflict in the Super Pit. But they were an absolute blast to watch. Great fan support, seats right down to the court, noisy as hell. If it is usable, I think that venue would be great for volleyball and I would support WBB there also.
