Hard not to believe a mass exodus is coming.

I don’t think we have very many players that other teams want. 

Obviously Chandler Morris. But his stock is not near as high as it was. 

DT Sheffield will certainly get offers for more than we can pay him, but NO ONE is breaking the bank for a 5’8 slot receiver. Now, if Sheffield was 6’1, could play outside and was this productive he’d be backing up the money truck. 

Our freshman center will get offers, but not as many as he would get if he waited another year. 

And on defense? Take ‘em.

I’m predicting a lot of change. 

JayD and Miles mentioned it on their podcast, keep a few of our returners on defense and hope the new DC brings some of his current players.  

Not sure what we do on offense.  Need to keep C4 to try and help recruit some players from the portal. Build some OL depth.

Chandler Morris isn't going anywhere.  UNT is the perfect spot for him.

The dislike for Coach O is incredible and this just shows what type of fans we truly have. His job is to get interaction with high school players and coaches and he's done a better job of that than anyone in the history of this school. His job is to get them looking at us and willing to talk to the school and that is happening.

And camps.  Just from Twitter, people claim it’s highly attended, organized, and well run.  At the very least, it gets kids on campus and further develops a relationship with the kid/families/coaches.  He’s been a positive for UNT.

The scholarship limit goes from 85 to 105 next year, but the real news is the roster limits drop to 105. Many P4 teams carry more than that now. That will lessen opportunities for upward movement in the portals and give us an opportunity to pick up players from P4 rosters. Walk-ons will only happen to the extent teams do not offer 105 ships.

I think the 70+ included freshman recruits. I believe we had around 20+ transfers if I’m not mistaken.

I suspect we’ll retain most.  It’s the exodus from the current roster that will be concerning.   And this will be a yearly challenge, sadly.   And that’s not a dig at UNT but the reality of the NIL era.
