Sure why not. We should get past letting our emotions get in the way of who plays for this program. Can you play? Yes? Ok, get out there and win some games.

Don't think I ever saw this posted until after he left. Regardless, I don't care. Every team has some cancers. The coaches just need to decide if the talent is worth it. I think it is. As long as you're not a felon, I really don't care what you do off the field anymore. Neither do the elite teams.

They suspended him and said he isn't welcome back. Might want to figure t hat out before we roll out the red carpet.

Sure why not. Make it a formality I guess. Georgia has had over 20 players arrested/cited related to reckless driving, DWIs, and racing since January of 2023. Joshua Cephus had a dwi end of 2022 and returned in 2023 to have his best season.

As long as there's no felonies or violent offenses involved, I really don't care anymore. I'd rather avoid having a Joe Mixon on our team but nobody really cared at OU. Nobody on the outside cares either. Just win.

That is simply not true.  Alabama will cut a top player in a heartbeat if they get out of line, as they just did a couple of days ago.  Penn State kicked Isheem Young out of their recruiting class.  Even Arkansas booted this guy right out the door that we're drooling to take back despite what he did to his teammates.  Elite teams can easily replace a 5-star player who is a cancer with a 4-star who isn't.  It's the lower-tiered teams that feel they have to cling to top players despite their major character/off-the-field issues.

Jameis Winston received multiple shoplifting citations while in college. He also had the whole sexual assault allegations, which, innocent until proven guilty so whatever.

I brought up Joe Mixon who knocked out a woman and broke her jaw then played the following season.

ESPN posted an article in 2015 where they examined college athlete arrests amongst 20 of the biggest athletic programs. They found most ended up being dropped after the athletic departments protected their athletes.

Another great example is Aaron Hernandez who was was drinking at a bar, refused to pay, then hit the manager all at the age of 17 after he enrolled at Florida early. It was documented in the police report after he even admitted to it. School did nothing.

It's a case by case basis but if you don't think the biggest programs allow a lot of shady stuff to happen, I don't know what to tell you. They pretty much only act if the situation either benefits them (clear a roster spot) or if it's just so bad they have to do something to save their image.

I never said that.  The same is true of middle and smaller programs as well, and at high schools.  Football players in general get away with garbage that the average student does not; and the better the player, the more they can get away with.

But to say that the top programs do not care, or that they have less concern about "shady stuff" than lesser programs, is simply not true.  Some particular programs at the top have let it slide far more than others, like Florida during the Urban Meyer years.  Jameis Winston was the kind of player you just can't replace, so he no doubt got a lot of leeway.  But none of that is specific to the elite programs.  If FSU would have booted Jameis Winston, you know plenty of lower-level P5 teams and G5 teams would have offered him a scholarship in a heartbeat.  I mean, we're the team that has Isheem Young on its roster, when he is clearly a top P5-level athlete.
