conflicting feelings.  obv very happy for the win over a major conference program at home - supposedly the first in Denton since 2010? - but the way we won this didn't make me feel particularly good about our season moving forward.  Someone convince me to not read too much into this.

10-0 run late in the 2nd half when OSU had a chance to blow it open.  That’s not bad.  Free throw shooting scares me as it seems to every year.

I had the same general sentiment throughout the game, but imma let it settle for the evening before expounding upon it. dub is a dub right now.

Good game by the Mean Green.  With 10 minutes to play, outscored them 21-11 to end the game.

We’re never gonna blow out teams. That’s just not our game. However, we’re gonna be tough and gritty for 40mins and will scratch and claw to win no matter how ugly it looks.

DJ Draper on the call, huh? guess we're listening to the new Kendrick album with the game muted tonight

Draper doesn't have the voice for color, but his content isn't bad. That's all you want out of a color commentator. Kyle is a pro though.  Really proud to have him as a play by play.

I thought for a second our battle flag was on the side. That would have been $$$$. I still do like these though.

as one who believes that time is non-linear, it feels a little hypocritical of me to be the one to point out that was actually 2 years ago, under a different coach, and for a team that won the NIT

But the same defensive system.

All D, no O.

This is why he gets the start. I would want D out of my 5 before scoring.

Back and forth game between two good teams.  OSU really protects the rim and plays tough defense.  When they got set we struggled mightily, but we adjusted by turning up the pressure, got steals and turnovers and pushed the pace in transition.  The mark of experience is finding different ways to win and we seem to have it.

That did not look pretty... Why would you set up a play to have him shoot if he's been playing like ass all night? Incredible that it went in though

It's almost as if the head coach knows more about his player personnel than you do.

Good crowd for a Monday night with students are mostly gone for Thanksgiving break. Crowd intensity picked up in the Pit with about 7 minutes to go in the 2nd half and the fans stayed with it till the end and were rewarded with a thrilling win. Fun night at the Pit!

To the game itself - We played really hard. Especially defensively. Offensively we were a mess, indecisive at times and pressing needlessly at others. Lots to sharpen up there.👆

Still we managed to drag another team into the muck with us and ended up drowning them with the intensity defensively.

This is the double edged sword to playing hard defensively. If you have ever played basketball, playing hard defensively wears you out. I think this contributes to lots of jump shots on the offensive end, but also tired legs.

it's not the voice (well...it's not just the voice). it's the content. he'll start wandering down so many verbal cul de sacs and then try to find his way out with a tired cliche line that really doesn't fit whatever point he was attempting to make. glad he made some shots for my alma mater, but he's not a good broadcaster.

This team has a lot of potential, but it's still too early to say with any confidence what kind of team we're gonna have come February.  Still, it's nice to win a second game like that this season against a power league type school.

I'm pretty much open to anything that doesn't have Hodge calling up three subs at the 18:30 mark of the 1st half

I heard him say in the preseason something to the effect that "starting" the game to him doesn't mean those players will play the most minutes or are necessarily always the best players.   It's more about effective playing, and as the game goes on the roles increase or decrease by what the game entails who is in or out.

These uniforms would be better if they replaced the script "Mean Green" with a regular block letter "Mean Green."  I don't like that script on the football helmets, and don't like it here either.

Awesome win. So happy that we got a win against a 'big name' school at home. It was a really good crowd for the Monday before Thanksgiving just like other people have said. One of my favorite moments: the standing ovation Delo got after he hurdled seats baseline out of bounds.

The team has some glaring issues on offense in spacing, shot creation, and lineup combinations. But honestly I'm just so happy right now that screw it. Criticism can wait for another day.

welcome to the last 7 years of NT basketball... winning basketball

Yes.  A comment on the Oregon St board said we like to "muck it up".   He thought it was good for their team to experience it and stay close on the road.
