You never promote somebody that has two or three successful games as an interim when you need somebody that proves he can do it for a long duration.

Retain the best position coaches, let the new DC select replacements for the others... and then get them all recruiting the players that they need for their system. There should be no viable excuses for next season's defense.

I'm no coach so anyone who has a better gauge on these things please fill me in. What percentage of the blame belongs to the DC and what percentage is personnel? Is it possible that the D is just playing up to their talent level? If it's personnel can we reasonably expect a coaching change to make a difference ROS?
