IN THE PIT. Basketball deserves all the eyes and attention that football has been getting. A HIGHLY respected program across the country and continues to put quality teams on the court. Sell out DATCU? Nah, SELL OUT THE PIT!

GMG.

The Pit was living up to it name in a bad way the last time I went.  A drive to Denton during on a week day is not something I can easily fit in my schedule.  Is the contruction inside finished?  Are the concessions lines short enough not to have me miss 1/4 of game time waiting in line for bad food?  The students and Denton locals should be packing out Pit for games not during the holidays.  I appreciate and respect the pitch.  But in a football thread you are likely preaching to the converted or people who can’t travel to Denton so easily during the week.  Weekend games after FBS and NFL seasons are over and holiday break games are my only real option for attending a basketball game. 🤷🏽‍♂️

My Dad was actually mentioning this that he noticed most of our games are during the weekday. That does hurt attendance for those that work and cant get to Denton in time. Is this just an AAC thing?

Thanks for the clarification. I hate the NBA as well, although I will keep up with the Mavs.

I was going to purchase season tickets this year and plan coming up a couple of weekends, but the schedule quickly nixxed that plan.

Usually you’ll have one game during the week and one during the weekend. It’s just how college basketball does things. Our home non-con is atrocious (both teams and dates) but there are some good weekend games in conference.

If you can enjoy watching your team win, it can be fun.

If your heart is set on avoiding the game of basketball, okay.

My son likes the basketball games more than the football games because they are quicker and not an all day affair like football has become with the television time outs.

Yeah I don't really watch any other basketball except for the Mean Green.

Construction is finished inside.  You can jog laps around the whole concourse to help burn off the calories from the poor quality bad chicken tenders.  During preseason games they had all the concessions open and even a full bar concession near the NT Blvd side baseline.

To be honest they probably popped all the popcorn during the first game a few weeks ago and will slowly serve it to all of us suckers the rest of the season.  And the best food they had, the jambalaya, hasn't been seen in probably 4 seasons.  But it's only a 2hr game.  Stick a QT taquito in your coat pocket and bring it along if you want "gourmet" concession food.

Also, I don't live in Denton and I make pretty much every home basketball game, even during the week.  When my office was in Plano you could leave at 6pm and be parked by 6:50.  I now leave downtown Dallas, pickup the wife in Plano and head to Denton and still make 7p.  And I usually just walk out to the parking garage at 5pm to accomplish all that.

If you're looking for better excuses just say the Super Pit seats are uncomfortable.
