I was smoking, ashes fell on jacket and the rest is history. I still use the paper weight but evidently don't pay attention to the engraving.

Mean Green.  

Changed back to Eagles after Fry left, and Jerry Moore, in 1983.   Also dropped to 1-AA and dropped the Flying Worm.  All poor decisions! 

RV returned us to Mean Green.

I agree! However our option was to either drop to 1AA or drop football, and the decision could have gone either way. Thanks for the history lesson regarding the usage of "Mean Green" as a universal nickname long before I was aware of it. Your input is much appreciated!
