It was disappointing no mid-major Cinderellas made it to the second weekend. But I don't think we panic about that yet. The big boys didn't pull off any seed upsets either, with Grant's Red Raiders being the only non-Top 2 seed in the Elite 8, and now of course we have all four 1 seeds in the Final 4. I'm gonna serve this year up as an anomaly and hope for better next season.
In order of who I want to win the title: Houston, Auburn, Florida, Duke.
I like when champions reside in the Lone Star State.
I like that he has already been in this situation before. He took the job at Cleveland State from Iowa State, and after CSU had already put up a couple of good seasons including an NCAAT appearance. Instead of a down time, he upheld the winning culture. If you like 20+ wins and postseason tournament appearances, I don't think it's unrealistic to expect that again in 2025-26. Now get to The Pit and support!
No head coach NIT experience, no NCAA tournament experience, no conference championships, no major transfer threats from his roster, led a team that was 109 spots below us in NET rankings, 2-13 in Quad 1/2 games.
He very well may work out, and I hope he does, but this is the hire you make when you wont financially commit to taking a step forward.
