Wichita State looked like they were sleep walking through that game.  Definitely not the same Wichita State team of the past... something seemed very off with them.  They had some of the worst turnovers l have ever seen at the D1 level in Men's bball.

I know they won recently, but what is going on in Wichita? I remember that their forum hated their coach last year, but is it a talent issue? I would think they would be able to push out a 20 win team every year

I would say there are clearly 3 groups right now. The separation in some areas is minimal so some teams still have hope of climbing out of the cellar and into the middle of the pack, from the middle to the top 1/3 all the while the top tries to cling on to the top. This time of year is always the most interesting. It's a slow cement of authority for the top 1/4-1/3 to cruise the last month vying against themselves for tourney seeding.

I'm very intrigued by UAB.  Solid club that gives us problems.

They are on a tear since they lost to us, focused and angry.  Don't be surprised if they steal a win on 1/26.

Shades of Ohio State's football loss to Michigan...could be exactly what they needed to level up.

      PAC is back

      Just as I like to use "North Texas" as our name and never "UNT". But there are hundreds of teams with Eagles as a mascot. Mean Green is unique and ours alone (marketing opportunity). .......................... As for the PAC and revenue I found this article that mentions the PAC-2 gained $50 mil from the Rose Bowl this year and will get another $50 mil next year... "However, to add a bit more salt to Oregon's wound, a couple of former conference foes are receiving a big payday from the Rose Bowl.       I wouldn't necessarily say that we won't play UNT again in football. SMU has played UNT a ton throughout its history. Far more than any other regional schools in the P4. That said, I doubt we will ever play in Denton again.

      Nice Article: Maintaining Success

      Hodge was a Juco HC before joining UNT as an assistant. He brought in the defensive game planning and was used to having to recruit and re-roster the majority of his teams each year. It's always been like that at Juco level and is similar now at D1 level with players leaving for NIL and more playing time. But some older coaches were used to developing their own players for 4-5 years. Similar to FBS football, some coaches are having trouble adapting to the new era of recruiting a new roster each season. If Ross keeps us winning and gaining hardware we he will attract poachers for his services at a bigger program, like McCasland did.
