Conflicted by Wichita State vs Minnesota... I want Minnesota to do well so it looks better for us but we also play Wichita State and them winning is good for the conference.

I think if this were someone like Tulsa or UTSA, down in the 200s NET, instead of WSU, I'd be pulling for Minnesota rather than the conference mate, but it'll do the AAC well to have a few teams up pushing top 50 NET.

That's also how I feel. If Minnesota can get their starting guard back and finish .500 in conference with a few good wins, it'll look good for us as a conference to have 2 wins against them. The NET rankings don't factor in injuries lol...

Thinking about the current (non-Mean Green) American torchbearers right now.  Random thoughts:

MEMPHIS is clearly the media darling.  I hate rooting for them, but this conference desperately needs more respect and the only way to get that is to win these OOC games.

WICHITA STATE is rockin'! Not many brand name wins, but the BB enthusiast will see some solid wins on their resume.  Minnesota is on deck soon, for those that like to look at common opponents.  Also ETSU, which is clobbering Charlotte right now.  They should wallop Alcorn State.

ECU and RICE.  Not sure what to think about these stellar records.  Me personally, I love the game but I don't love it to the point of being familiar with all 300+ programs.  I know very little about their opponents.

PS: I don't know if the American has had this many 1 or 0-loss teams (5) this far into November.  Seems like it would be a good thing, right?

I was giving this some similar consideration...

I think Memphis is a cut above the rest of the league. I know they fell off last season, but this roster build looks different...Penny didn't just go for stars...Tyrese Hunter especially is an experienced winner. they'll be ranked next week and they're continuing to challenge themselves with a rugged non-conference.

UNT, Wichita State and FAU look like tier two...UAB...maybe Temple as well in that same conversation. ECU and Rice are still a question mark. both play tomorrow so I'll be curious to see if they can keep a solid record going against meh competition.

rest of the conference looks like sub 200 NET programs
