Listened to Hodge's postgame interview with Hank and Dave. A rough summary:

Hodge takes the "lion's share" of the blame for the offense at the end. The offense and the inability to defend without fouling was the difference down the stretch.

McNeese's ability to get to the FT line, finish around the rim and our inability to finish around the rim were big reasons why we lost.

McNeese came out more physical than us.

Dave complimented the bench's box score stats. Hodge mentioned that Jossell needs to stay out of foul trouble -- that's the second game in a row. We needed Jossell out there to match McNeese's athleticism. Jossell is one of the few players on the roster who can just blow by people.

McNeese is the heavy favorite to repeat as Southland winners (I think we all knew that already).

I'd like to see us wear our green and white uniforms more often. They look great and they represent our university so well.

Jossell was initiating things and led the push to get us back in the lead around the 5 min mark…and the for whatever reason Hodge pulled him.

Players are gonna have bad nights…I can’t imagine Floyd will be that bad all season…but man I’m struggling with a lot of Hodge’s personnel and substitution decisions so far

Ross makes line changes like hockey. He must want everyone to go all out every shift, and that’s why he substitutes so frequently. This was my complaint last year also. Hate it coz it’s hard to get a rhythm when you’re only playing 5mins at a time.

Also, enough dumping the ball to Sissoko for the backdown offense. It’s painful to watch.

I’m sure they can look back to the last game when we beat a Big 10 team.

They won’t… or you can just follow what ever CBL says… I can assure he is never at any DFW area games and has never once coached at the high school level or higher. I would advise staying away from his commentary. I assure you a majority or local talent and local coaches are not going to see it this way. They will always push their best players to “better” programs. Football got lucky with Sides since his dad coaches at Guyer and they moved to the area.

I am not saying this is my view; however this is not a view most will see. It’s not a “bad take”. It’s just what I have seen over and over.

Best way for it to die is for him to be proven wrong….

We've won some big games wearing black in the past.

You sound like the idiots on the Minnesota board.  One can't always just look at conference affiliation and automatically assume "yeah that team is good/bad" dependent on that alone.

McNeese was a 12 seed at the 2024 NCAAT , and kept it within ten @ #2 Alabama last Monday.

Prior to McNeese, WilL Wade coached 7 seasons between LSU (5) and VCU.   Take out the COVID year, so 6 eligible seasons, and that run includes 1 S16, 2 other R32s, and 2 more NCAATs.  The one non-NCAAT year was NIT S16.

I haven't really thought much about it, but I imagine Wade is in conversations about best coaches currently at MMs.  Like, Top 5.

I was just thinking this, reading all of these ignorant posts.   Wow.   You would think some of the most ardent UNT fans (people posting here) would know something about their opponents.

If losing to MS is now acceptable we have low expectations.

Do yourself a favor and go look at their roster.  In particular, where they all come from.  The entire team is transfers, similar to ours, but from big time basketball schools.  Doesn't necessarily always translate, but from watching the game, that team has some absolute dudes.  Will Wade doing what he does.  Still thought we could have beat them, but that's a very good team.

Have YOU ever coached beyond high school?

have YOU never left a 20 mile radius of where you grew up?

do YOU have Asperger’s?

not sure how I can trust your basketball acumen if not

OOC scheduling for games at the Supet Pit has always been surprisingly hard for us. Now that we are in the AAC, you would think we could get some decent names here beyond one good program a season.

That's what we've always been told, and I know we have almost 0 chance of getting a power team here. However I can't believe that a home and home deal with teams like WKU, UNLV, VCU, NMSU, Drake, UTEP are out of our reach. Those types of teams should also have similar problems to us and would welcome a home game vs UNT.

Stop bringing sense, reason, and self reflection in here! Let's laugh at other fan bases while doing the same thing!
