The regular fans in our section were surrounded by Army fans, and they acted like the owned our stadium. DATCU had to be somewhere between 40-60% Army fans for this game. Unfortunately, our team didn't put them in their place. Morris made some very questionable calls, and Army's defense (comprised of 2-star talent we wouldn't even let walk-on at UNT), made a joke of our "high-powered" offense.

The Army fans near us were annoying and mouthy. They even went so far as to call Mean Green fans "a bunch of vaginas", when many fled following our first endzone pick. By the end of the game, the entire event had become an embarrassment for North Texas.

So what can we really take away from this game? The North Texas football program never answers the challenge when faced with a real opportunity to be something better, and sadly our leadership believes that is acceptable. Sure, we will back into a sh!tty bowl game (against a team from a conference we left). But we won't be anything more than we are right now. We will continue to be a visitor in our stadium every time a real program shows up.

Well, we have won 5 games this year. Winning one more game gets us to 6. To put that into perspective, that alone would make this the 8th time we would get to at least 6 wins since 1995. That’s 6 out of 30. It’s my belief that THIS is more than we normally are…

We are a 0.500 team at best. We are on the treadmill of mediocrity for what seems like decades of neglect of the program from the athletic administrators. We inch forward while others are making steps or even leaps forward. This is why our attendance struggles and our notoriety is lacking despite being in a major media market. This is why we can’t talk football with our friends who graduated at other colleges/universities because we just don’t bring anything to the table. This is the product of what has been cultivated through the years of mismanagement. SL gave us hope until the clock struck midnight. Seems like we’re back in our rags again still waiting for Prince Charming to bring our glass slipper.

As worn out as it is. I had to take the chance. You just set it up.

#Hit6 was our campaign over a decade ago. It shouldn't be good enough for any of us today. We should have increased our expectations by now.

UNT is a 5-4 team that started the season 5-1. Now UNT is below .500 in AAC play. We beat on bums.

Until we actually step up and beat good teams, we can't be a good team. So, we will now go to a POS bowl and play a team from the Sun Belt, C-USA, or MAC. Wow, does that suck. Nobody wants to pay money to go see that. They wouldn't even pay money to drive to DATCU and watch this Mean Green team face a Top #25 Army program.

So our 400,000 alums will continue to stay home while programs like Army make us visitors at DATCU. I hate it. I really do. But it won't change as long as our fans and donors continue to make excuses and accept the #Hit6 mentality.

SSJ, I won't disagree much with your points here, but I will take as many ARMY "two-star" men as I can get. Assuming their talent is objectively deemed "two-star," I'll take 11 guys that play as a team with conviction, pride, focus on mission, intensity, pride and heart. Their fans are used to seeing it. Their fans prepared for and/or fought much more critical battles. And they vehemently support it when they see it.

Army came in force..both on and off the field. The stadium looked good because of Army.

SA is 4-5 and waiting

East Carolina is 5-4 and 4-1 in conference play..ahead of NT

Temple should get us to 6 wins if NT falls to the other two.

 2nd tier bowl?

As I said in another thread...This has Seth Littreal written all over it.

Hope I'm  wrong.

We’re a team that can’t overlook anyone on our schedule and pencil in wins. We’re not that good. Any team has a chance against us despite their record. We’re a team that continues to beat ourselves much less trying to beat other opponents.

You are so right about all of this…and when we see any of it change, it’ll be an awesome day. I’ve been waiting since 1990…
