This was a game we should have won. The absolutely insane refusal to get under center from the ONE yard line and that boneheaded onsidekick early in the game were your difference.

As crazy as it sounds to say, the defense was a….wait for it…strength today.

Could have/Should have won the Memphis and Tulane games as well.

Zero games on our schedule this year have been out of reach aside from Texas Tech.

Seems coach Morris has a hard time implementing formations that are effective in spot situations and only feels comfortable with those things that he believes in such as air raid. He needs to start figuring out how to win games and a big part of that is he has the head coach having plays and formations for special situations ready.

Two red zone interceptions was the difference.

Defense gave up a 96 yard 13 minute drive in the 3rd.  Calling the defense a strength is a relative term.  They did enough for us to win, but their inconsistency all season was the cause for calling the onside.

Morris now 10-11 in his career at NT. 8-11 against FBS teams.

It’s time to start thinking about this. If we do not win out the season. Cut bait

Their game strategy was to out discipline Army and take advantage of their mistakes.  STUPIDITY!  They put to much pressure on the worse Defense in FBS and didn’t take enough long ball shots with the offense.  If the Head Coach doesn’t dip into his own salary to pay the next DC and they don’t get to a Bowl game and play well he would be fired.  Well he would be fired at any other large Flagship of a System University with aspirations of competing for conference championships.

If they hand not retained the architect of the worse defense in FBS for the defense to show little or no improvement, I might NOT agree.  The ONLY reason the team is more palatable to watch this year is the usually great QB play.  What happens when we don’t get QB play on a level that NFL teams would consider inviting to camp as a potential backup?  3 points, that is what we get.  So unless Eric Morris can clone Chandler Morris this team is probably taking a step back next year from bowl eligibility or flirting with it.

Bryson Daily threw his first interception of the season. Per the announcers, Army had multiple turnovers for the first time all year. Army scored 14 points despite averaging 37.9 ppg on the year but yes, you're right, the defense was not a strength.

They absolutely were today. Especially given what we all expected. This loss is on Eric and Chandler Morris. If you can’t see that there’s no helping you.

After the last bye week, we looked terrible against FAU but won. This bye week, we looked terrible against Army and lost. I wonder if EM really knows how to get his team ready after a break? If this is the case, a bowl game isn’t going to look good since there will be a multitude of weeks before the game is played.

I have been as big a critic of this defense as there is all year, but I’ll stick to my assessment that they were the only reason we hang around today.

This Army team has put up 40+ points SIX times this season and we gave up 14.

Yeah, the defense has had more than it's share or problems all year, but FOR TODAY's GAME, I hope both Eric and Chandler Morris stood up in the locker room and took acceptance for letting them down.  The D more than held up their end of the load today after being put in terrible positions and with no drive consuming time or scoring support from the O.

Yes, the defense is at fault for letting Army stay on the field for long drives, but that's what their team does.  Our D came up with turnovers and kept fighting to the end after being on the field for over 2/3rds of the game because our high-powered offense did very little.

The last one couldn't either.  I guess air-raid offenses don't work if they take a week off.

The defense played their best game of the year.  And Morris calls pass plays inside the 5 yard line.  Run the damn ball.  They could have won this game instead of losing #3 in a row.

Army’s game plan and turning down a late end of half high percentage field goal with no time on the clock was disrespectful of a top rated offense.  They completely crapped the bed and Army knew as long as they had more than a 3 point lead, Mean Green offense would make mistakes and stop themselves.  As stupid as it sounds the Mean Green’s overall strategy was to out discipline Army and get lucky with some big plays.

Yeah let's do something completely different and go under center, something this team hasn't done in eons. Take your medimucal old man.

That said the play calling was garbage.

Problem is this program never hires well at football coach ... just one disappointing hire after another.

So Morris will be here for his entire contract... then we can make a change, but doubt we'll make the right change.

At least try the wildcat formation with Wyatt young. Seems like Chandler has been timid to use his legs of late.
