Parking situation is ridiculous. I got here an hour before kickoff.UNT needs to figure this out. Makes me want to stay home.

ThI problem is there’s nothing that will “figure it out” until Bonnie Brae is done.

I’ll take parking over a pond 😀

I think the timing of your arrival is an issue as well,  but the main problem is that Denton should have redone Bonnie Brae when DATCU was being built.

Can you imagine Arlington waiting to redo the roads around Jerry World or the Rangers’ Barn ten years after those facilities opened. I think the parking plan we have in place is adequate provided the infrastructure they have to work with.

An hour before kickoff isn’t early enough?  and I still missed the first quarter?

I’m not spending 6-7 hours at one events. With 2 hours of it parking.

While we're complaining about things, can someone get some help to the video team to show them what a REPLAY is and when to show one?  I realize that our fast-paced offense makes that difficult sometimes, but that was definitely not the issue today.

Just to put a positive spin on this one, it seems the ref's mic worked perfectly the whole game. Sounded good also.

I could even hear them on the TV broadcast. It was great.

Geeze we are so bush league.

I usually go to one home game a year, and went today.  I expected getting into the Orange parking lot to be slow, and it was, as usual.  But my biggest complaint today was just getting into the stadium!  We stood in line at Gate 2 (west side) for half an hour trying to get in.  We got there in plenty of time to get seated before the kickoff under normal circumstances, but the delay of just walking through a scanner (only two at Gate 2) and scanning the tickets slowed everyone down.  On game days where 25k+ attendance is likely, they need faster throughput than this.

I didn’t buy a parking pass and saw that it was sold out today. The wife and I took an Uber from Corinth and left at 1:45pm. Made it in time to see the anthem and the flyover (which was awesome). Game and back was $40 with tip. Highly recommended.

For a sellout/highly attended game?  Not enough time.

Maybe not, but has the product unt  been putting out worth the extra hassle of parking and getting through the gate to the average fan?

To me, the average fan will say no thanks and find something else to do in Dfw.

Unt football is in entertainment business and there is a lot of competition in Dfw.

No one has to like the comment but it is true.

One average fan's story:

On Thursday, I talked my cousin and her husband into coming to the ARMY game. They came to games regularly for a couple of years when their daughter was accepted to NT and she was planning to attend, but with daughter deciding not to go to college (not a bad decision these days), they now come to our annual BBQ game only.

They are fantastic cooks and always bring excellent food for our tailgate when they attend.

I recommended they order their parking pass online ASAP when they made their Thursday commitment to attend.

I got a call from them at 1:00 pm. They had been trying to park for about an hour. While not handicapped, they do have some struggles walking. They got to the Blue lot and were turned away because the lot was sold out. As for every game the Blue lot is "sold out," there were at least 100 spots unused for this game. Interesting that the Blue lot attendants were not even able to take cash or card for this game because they were not going to sell a single space after the sell out was declared.

They got to the Orange lot, paid to get in and then realized they had no way to get the food and ice chest to our tailgate, which was close to a mile away from where we tailgate at the south end of the blue lot. We discussed options, including driving back to the blue lot using the Bonnie Brae entrance so the we could all come over to get their food and then go back to the orange lot but agreed the game would be started by the time they got back to the tailgate.

They gave up, drove back to McKinney and had a good dinner with the food they had prepared for our tailgate. By they way, they acknowledged it was their fault for not ordering the Blue lot ticket Thursday. But most importantly at least in theory, NT policy lost at least $3000 in parking lot revenue and all the money some fans might have spent had they come to the game.

We swore off the blue lot after one try a couple seasons back.  The hour+ long wait we endured just put me off ever trying it again.  I hate that your friends missed out on the fun.  Except for the game’s results, what a fun atmosphere!

We saw crazy lines to the blue lot walking over the bridge an hour prior to kickoff… curious if it is still a long wait to get in?

What do you expect them to do if every spot is claimed, either by donors or sales? They can’t make the passes get used, but can you imagine if they oversold that lot and people with valid passes showed up with no spot to park in?

I missed the creation of the Brown lot.
Is this the first year of it's existence? One of our crew went early enough to be first to park in that lot Saturday. He was just carrying a plastic grocery bag of snacks so it worked well for him, priced $15.

Where did you park and which way did you come from?

For anyone coming from Fort Worth on 35W, I highly recommend exiting at Exit 82 for Ponder, turning right, then turning left on Bonnie Brae (where it's already four lanes and really nice). I do this whether I'm parking in the blue lot or the neighborhood. I was a late arrival, probably parked in the blue lot right at kickoff (the flyover occured while I was waiting to get into the lot). Me and my son got a couple of waters and got to our seats to see our field goal.

I guess we all get spoiled by convenience from lowly attended games and when we get a highly attended game we start to piss and moan about lines being too long. You ever been to a big time game at a big time university? Shit takes a while so just deal with it.
