It's that time of year again.  For those of us interested in this kind of stuff, here's this season's attendance tracker.  The chart is starting to get a bit unwieldy, but I'll probably stick with this for the season.

At 3,451, somewhat disappointing on the attendance front as we experienced our lowest season-opener attendance number over the last 4 seasons and down 964 compared to the UNI game last year.  We have some ballers on this team and they are going to be fun to watch as they come together as a group.  Get to the Pit to see for yourself and GMG!

Not really a surprise given we were going against election night though.

Yes, there were only 11 Division I men's games scheduled last night for a reason.

I'm excited and worried to see what attendance will look like this year. Home opener on Election Night gets an expected low result. A lot of games over the Break, including one the Monday of Thanksgiving Week and only two Saturday games all year. I'm curious what Game 2 will look like tomorrow against NAIA Wayland Baptist. Doesn't seem like there's been much marketing for basketball yet.

As @Matt from A700 reported, 3,235 for Wayland Baptist.  Sure, it's a tough draw, but after two games in we are trending in the wrong direction and below last year's first two games against UNI and Omaha by a total of 1,262 or 631 attendees per game.

Those games are tough drives on weeknights just to see meaningless opponents.   Tipoff on a Thursday night at 8:10pm, after the women's game, means getting home after 11:30 pm before a school/work day for many.   I know it's all just excuses for out of towners.  I was disappointed in the student turnout.

Doesn't seem like there's been much marketing for anything since the Wyoming FB game to be honest.

Not much to say other than hopefully we've found the bottom (attendance-wise and you know).  Regardless of who the opponent is, 2,690 is not good.  We still have our head above a 3K average, but not by a lot.  Second game in a row with fewer fans than the previous game.  Have the students already left for Thanksgiving break?  Texas Wesleyan was a tougher test than expected.  Are they better than people thought or.....?  Will fans come out for Oregon State?  We'll see.
