So, if Rice can hold on for the win, Tulane and Army beat Navy, We win out, UTSA pulls the upset on Army, and Tulane beats Memphis, could we still play in the conference championship? That's a lot of hoping and wishing but it is possible right?

And just like that, Rice took down Navy 24-10. With our defense, we would have had to score 50 to win this game.

It was like an 8-hour game with at least 2 rain delays.

The Army Navy game doesn't count as a conference game. The only time they could potentially face each other in conference would be the championship game.

I didn't know that. How can they play and it not count as a conference game. I get that they play every year no matter what, but I don't understand how two conference mates can play each other and it not count as a conference game.

Special arrangement, I believe that was part of the agreement for Army joining the AAC.  They don’t play each other until after the conference championship game.
