DENTON, Texas – UNT women’s basketball senior Tommisha Lampkin has been named to the 2024-25 Preseason Watchlist for the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Award, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced on Friday.

Lampkin is one of 20 players on the list that annually recognizes the top centers in Division I women’s basketball. In January, the list will be cut down to 10 and eventually to five in March before a winner is announced. Throughout the season, the list will be fluid and players will have the ability to play themselves on or off the list until the five finalists are selected.

Lampkin enters the 2024-25 season as the American Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year after earning First Team All-AAC honors a season ago. She averaged a career high 15.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while leading North Texas to its first conference title since 1986. Lampkin led the American in double doubles and field goal percentage, which was also a career high and ranked No. 7 in the country at 61.6%.

The senior from Mansfield, Texas, will have an opportunity to approach program records in multiple statistical categories during her final season of eligibility. Already planted in the top 10 in career field goal percentage, rebounds, blocks and double doubles, she also ranks No. 16 in scoring after surpassing 1,000 career points in the final game of the 2024 season.

North Texas officially opens its season on Monday, Nov. 4, when it hosts Alcorn State at 6 p.m. CT in The Super Pit.
