Ok I know we are looking ahead but below is our home and away 2025 schedule.

Home:   Lamar,Washington State, South Alabama, Navy, Temple, USF, and UTSA.

a very doable 6-1 or a 7-0.

Away:  Western Michigan, Army,Charlotte,

Rice, and UAB. Possible 4- 1 or 5 -0.  If we manage to keep our qtr back next year and we improve on Defense maybe 11 -1.

If we get the continuity of a second Chandler Morris season, we are definitely poised to have an even greater year next year. Assuming a new DC and we just need a serviceable defense with that schedule to be in contention for the conference championship game. We will replace the WRs and RBs that inevitably leave, but it'd be nice to keep Sheffield.

I dont think C morris will be back for his last year here.  Way too much money floating around.  I bet the Sooners have already made an offer.

This.

He and Sheffield will be playing for a P5 giant next year, making several hundreds of thousands. OU is a great prediction, so is Auburn.

Will he be the starter there?  C Morris isn't a  C Rogers situation (looking for one last big NIL payday).  He has a legit NFL chance and needs to be somewhere that he'll be "The Guy" guaranteed, not at risk of losing the job in Spring or Summer practice, or losing the job after a bad day at Tuscaloosa or Ann Arbor..  If that opportunity develops in the SEC/Big Ten/Big XII, then so be it.  The biggest risk I see is if E Morris gets a P-4 gig or if Chad Morris gets a P-4 OC gig.

I don’t think if he left UNT it would be for OU, he started out at that school. It would be a crazy full circle if he did end up back at OU though. He already has played at TCU and lost his starting role. I believe Chandler stays here especially if he sees Coach Morris pull the trigger on a new DC showing that he wants to win championships.

We have 70+ players on this roster that weren't here this time last year...

The QB putting up record numbers wasn't here last year...

Who knows how next year will look

Also, assuming Chandler Morris does leave (I think he will), Eric Morris has a pretty good track record of getting transfer QBs in here and his system is gaining momentum. Better than zero chance he actually upgrades the QB position next season.

With so much turnover in college sports, I dont know how you can predict how next season will go.

No one can predict the next season, period. That’s why pre-season rankings are idiotic. Even without the portal, you can’t predict how the season will go.
