GCU is paying a $16 million entry fee to enter the WCC next summer.

That's insane to begin with.  My bet is GCU opts out of the WCC, asks the PAC for an invite, otherwise joins the MWC at only $3.5M.

makes you wonder if UNLV and AFA made the right choice staying in the MWC.

UNLV could have taken have the exit fee and put the money on red................

I think the MWC made them all sign away their GOR this time too.   Locked them in like the ACC.

GCU has a lot of money and they are willing to invest in BB

It was a joke.   The MW is desperate for anyone at this point.

MWC going to give the PAC a run for its money. Good competition between two western leagues. It’s not the superior PAC over the MWC as easily anymore. The gap is smaller.

The PAC has the beast that is Gonzaga. And it’s the MWC has stout programs with New Mexico, UNLV, Nevada, Grand Canyon and UTEP. The Miners still have rep.

I still think the last PAC school is sac state or Texas State. NMSU with an outside shot.

A PAC/MWC merger plus adding Gonzaga and GCU would have been the best outcome.   But none of the Conference-level staffs wanted to be purged out so they both played hardball.  These fringe additions like UTEP, NIU, Akron, Texas State, SAC St don't move the needle more.
