Okay I'll start here's my recommendation for who we should go after

https://niuhuskies.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/nick-benedetto/2432

I don't think we're that far away if we can just keep things going in the right direction w/o losing half the team again and get somebody in that can replace Caponi (like your suggestion).

I may have missed a couple of names, but after 2024, we lose from our current team (which has several out due to injuries) on Offense:
   Receivers: Conwright and Ward
   O/L:  Duncan, Peterson, Blair
R/B:  I don't know if we get any of them back due to an injury waiver year (or if they are even seniors)

On Defense:
    LB: Jordan Brown, Jaylen Smith
    DL: Roderick Brown,  Jake Shipley
    CB: Texada
    FS: Jayden Hill

If we can keep the majority of the Offensive players with eligibility and shore up the Defense with a few more players AND a new DC, we can be a lot better than we are now.

Going into this game I was worried we may get blown out. But still have a sense of being disappointed after a close loss. Part of it being that looking at the stats we beat them in every category except the turn over battle and the score, oh and tied in sacks allowed. Just feels like a game we could have won.

That's my feeling too.  Since we hadn't really played anybody except for TT (and we know what that showed), I was afraid they were significantly better than us.  They made nearly as many bad plays as us but they were generally a better tackling team.

Negative in the turnover margin again. We are quite poor at getting takeaways. I guess it is pretty difficult to cause fumbles when you can’t even tackle. DBs too far off receivers to get INTs. Very little pressure on the opposing QB rushing three all the time. This defense plain sucks. We cannot beat a team with a pulse with Craponi.
I would add that we aren’t running the ball enough. And tempo for the sake of tempo has also become our enemy. We rarely have positive plays when we rush up and snap it.
At least I won’t have to hear about playoffs and rankings anymore.
