Making a 3rd and 1, a 4th and 1 and/or a 4th and 2 would have eaten up some clock.
But punting on both of those fourth downs would have turned the field over so at least it would, allegedly, eat more time on the clock before ECU scored again.

He didn’t come in off the street. He was a part of the program and probably didn’t have to change a thing. What a mid-season change CAN do is change an attitude. Change a belief. Those 2 elements alone can contribute to success. Then when it starts turning positive on the field, it becomes a snowball.
A mid-season change to an interim is not the same as an off-season change. Those often result in a program overhaul.
I was very outspoken by what a bizarre hire this was after firing (deservedly) Seth. It was a step down in almost every way. He did win me over with his words, but his performance has been 2 steps shy of horrible.
For the price we paid we could have done a ton better. The AD is the real culprit here for gambling on this hire and staff without doing anything about it
