Anyone heard if we are having any "secret" scrimmages before the season openers on the 4th and 5th of October? Doesn't sound like we are playing any exhibition games.

Ya it would have been cool to have an exhibition game like last year for a good cause.

Those are usually against Power 5 schools. Would love to know how those turn out.

Do the women play "secret scrimmages"? I have never heard any mention of them. Can't wait to see both the men's and women's teams play. Definitely going to need a roster to tell who all the new faces are.

I agree. They won CUSA regular season last year and have 47 wins the past 2 seasons. Hard to know how that translates to this season but they seem to be trending up. I think their NET was good last year too.

3rd in preseason CUSA voting. Has a 1st team all conference guy returning.

Sometimes i feel like the game would be mighty interesting and much more dynamic, if you had 2 balls. I would then suggest to also allow teams to play 6 players at a time. The strategy would be interesting. just following it would be hard.

      Another NIL Coaching Casualty

      Please move if needed, posting here as it's related to NIL and is probably more applicable to football than basketball. Miami basketball head coach is resigning. The following are quotes that should be of concern to any fan but especially some of your blue blood programs. What happens when you can no longer outspend your peers so your legendary coaches leave? Saban was the most name worthy retirement but there's been plenty others and here's another big name leaving. NIL will be reeled in when the big money boosters lose their favorite coaches, no longer see the wins on their records, and see they can no longer just money-whip their way to success. From the Miami Herald: “At this point, after 53 years, I just didn’t feel that I could successfully navigate this whole new world that I was dealing with because my conversations were ridiculous with an agent saying to me, `Well, you can get involved [with a prospective player] if you’re willing to go to $1.1 million, and that would be the norm.” ... “What shocked me beyond belief was after we made the Final Four just 18 months ago, the very first time I met with the players, eight of them decided they were going to put their names in the portal and leave. “I said, `Don’t you like it here?’ They’d say, `I love Miami, it’s great.’ But the opportunity to make money someplace else created a situation that you have to begin to ask yourself, as a coach, what is this all about?’’ He added that he tried “every which way” to make things work, but “last year was a disaster”, and this year was not going well, either.
