82K is pathetic. Those are ESPNU numbers. This is why I said we should have run a commercial in DFW all week leading up to the game. We can't build our brand if no one tunes in to see us play.

Problem this week is that Texas plays Georgia in Austin, TX the same time that we play Memphis..

Our game was on the same time as Oregon vs Ohio State this past week.  Well, roughly 30 minutes before.

For whatever reason I couldn’t get ESPN to stream Saturday. Ended up listening to Dave & Hank on the radio.

I realize I’m just 1 viewer but maybe others experienced the same issue.

Do you have a cable provider?

Other fanbases find reasons to watch their team, ours finds reasons not to.

Comparing the viewership numbers to our home attendance, it looks clear to me that our fan base did indeed watch the game.

Maybe questions need to be asked to our school administration about why our fan base is that small.

It was not on the ESPN+ streaming network. It was on one of the ESPN cable channels.

But if you don’t have cable, you must stream. Like me.

Edit: ok technically I have cable but my Serbian cable provider doesn’t carry the ESPN family of networks! 😂

Yall, all of this talk is so pointless.  It’s simple.  We love winners.  We have a team in every major professional sport.  We have 3 FBS universities, which all of them are not the market leader.  Winning is all that matters.  Doesn’t matter what we think, feel, believe. We win, people will follow.  We don’t, people will wander.

I think there is more to talk about. Someone talked about the size of our supporters. I agree it’s built person by person, win by win. However, is North Texas putting its money into telling anyone we won? I remember seeing UH, Rice, and UTSA billboards in their cities. We have them going into Denton county. Aren’t we the school with the most valuable TV market because of the metroplex? Is the Alumni Association effective in its mission of promoting the community postgrad? How many people are casual fans that wear a UNT shirt on Fridays into work? Why does @Matt from A700 have to make the Mean Green Infantry to promote road games? I love the spirit of the UNT faithful and I want us to succeed, but are we setting ourselves up for continuing success? I’m having to watch the Tulane game with their alumni group.
