Probably thankful I stayed off the game thread tonight, but here are my takeaways: Yes, it's an ugly win, a win that may not have felt like a win, and there remains a lot to be cleaned up.

But you can't say this is the same team as last year. Last year's team was not winning this game.

Also, the defense kept us in the game in the second half after all the missed opportunities from our offense. You would have thought the failed 4th down play from our own 32 would have sealed our fate, but the defense did not break - they only gave up 10 points in the second half on very short fields.

Also (x2), like Memphis last year, we gave FAU way too much time on their last drive. But this time, the defense finished the job.

Defense has been great in 2nd Halves,  but question why can Caponi not have the team ready in the first half? Adjustments are great but coming way too late, will get team into to big of a hole eventually in what should be winnable games easily
