I just wish for a little better bowl than the Frisco.

Outside of the NY6 and a few others, all bowls are viewed equally by the average CFB fan.

Playing TXST in Frisco would be awesome. It would be a great crowd and an opponent we actually care to beat.

My problem with these games that are early on is you lose out on potential practice time which many coaches will say is one of the best things that comes out of these bowl games

Beating Texas State in Frisco is awesomeness?  Let’s aim a little higher.

Unless we're the highest ranked G5 in the playoffs, our bowl options are limited. Playing in a local bowl against an in-state opponent is about as good we can realistically hope for. Our bowl destination and opponent are out of our control. Outside of winning all our games, there's nothing we can do to "aim higher".

I’d like to play at the Cotton Bowl or at Amon Carter or AT&T (as if) but otherwise, I’d like to go somewhere a bit more exotic.  And, I want to play and beat a “name brand” team.

Please not the Frisco Bowl again. Its on a weeknight and attendance is sparse. A few years ago we played in a made up bowl game in Frisco against Miami of Ohio with only 13,000 fans in attendance. I live in Frisco but just don't think I can stand playing in another one. I think that if we finish 8&4 or 7&5 we will have a better option. With Memphis, Army, and Tulane looming this Saturdays game will get us to 5&1 which is very important. We have   ECSU ,UTSA, and Temple remaining we should be okay barring injury. Of course that's what Alabama thought last week.

The extra practice time mattered before the transfer portal. It is mostly meaningless now as half the roster will be bouncing after the season.
If you aren’t in the playoff, it is better to finish up the bowl sooner so you can focus on recruiting your own players and start your own portal diving.
