How is this not a mountain west bowl? 

I'll take any bowl this year but it would be nice to get something better than Boise, and that doesn't include Shreveport or Frisco other than the convenience of them being closer. 

 

EDIT: this may be the last year for the Frisco Bowl for a few seasons. FCD is basically rebuilding Toyota Stadium in sections for the next 3 years, the capacity will be almost halved in that time.

Well we might be able to fill a half a bowl in Frisco.

I'm hoping that NT has already started on working to get the game moved to DATCU.  But I know that isn't likely... ☹

You would think there would be some sort of connection to make it happen with UNT's growing presence in Frisco, although I'd think the Ford Center would be the most likely outcome. It sure would be a more appropriately-sized venue for the crowds that bowl games has drawn...

My fear is the game gets moved to  Ford Stadium,  not Ford Center.

Way too early for bowl location speculation.   Hell the playoff is still on the table for us if we run the table.  And if all the higher ranked G5 lose more games than we do on the way to a AAC title we still might get in.   Don't get me wrong I won't scoff at being bowl eligible but I want an AAC title game appearance to get excited about post season football.  Far more people will watch that AAC title game than a random mid-week Bowl Game that may not have existed before rivals like UTSA joined FBS.

Denton doesn’t have the hotel capacity to host a bowl.

      Getting Close To Being Ranked (Army, Navy)

      It's wonderful being 4-1, but there's a reason we are the second lowest ranked 1-loss team at #73 (Eastern Michigan also at 4-1 is #82). 3 of our 4 wins (not really counting the SFA win which ironically may be one of the better wins of the 4) are against teams with a combined record of 5-12 who have collectively been outscored 456-196. Of course, some of those points against are ours, so there's that. No win on the road is easy, but next up is #109 FAU at 2-3. Hopefully we take care of business in Boca, but we will really find out about the mettle of this team over the following three games with Memphis, Tulane and Army. Let's do this.

      "Where Are The Fans?"

      Most casual fans don't understand the slimy anticompetitive mafia like business of revenue college sports. I find it ironic that when a few players get a more fair share of the economic pie that is the bridge too far for long time diehards. Most alumni came to the school for an education in spite of other school with better athletic programs. And unlike TCU and SMU, their parents probably did not have funds to give their college graduate a head start financially so that by the time they are 30 they have 10k of disposable income to throw at college athletics. The program has been bad for most of my life. And the City of Denton has always wanted to be more of a bedroom community than a college town. I really didn't know how unfortunate that was until I spent time in college towns. Denton of 25 years ago was almost hostile to North Texas Athletics
