I am not sure how you know NT was not part of this group, all I can guess it is an assumption.

Because Tulane’s AD named the schools who had been in discussions with the PAC and he didn’t name us.  I’d hardly call that an assumption.

Call me paranoid, but I sense SMU's greasy fingers on this.  They know the ACC is about to implode with Clemson and FSU leave (maybe even Miami now they have blown up).  They have always been fast friends with Tulane and Memphis from back in the original C-USA and then AAC.  So I think they are advising them to hang tight as the rewards for their patience will far outweight the sugar high from moving to the POS 2!

This conspiracy theory just highlights how irrelevant this entire discussion is.  Only the leadership of Pac 10 and SEC have power the financial power now.   And I would tap the brakes on the ACC imploding before 2028.  Unless ESPN and Fox just want to give away some money they don't have to.  SMU fans aren't packing stadiums at Tulane and Memphis.   And a game against SMU  does not get fans of those teams to TV in a greater numbers than any other game against a decent G5 team.  SMU is arrogant but not that arrogant.  Unfortunately we are the only program that values getting to play games against them and MAYBE UTSA.

I will say this, we were ask first, the numbers being presented were way less than what we’re getting now and in the future. The PAC doesn’t even have a media deal yet…that is why we said, “NO”!
