DT was decent, but I wouldn’t put him in the same category as the other 2.

Yep. He had a bad arm and threw for 439 and 5 scores. I saw it the first game. His upside is so high. Upgrade over last year's Chandler 4 and he was a good QB

Just watching the games so far, Chandler Morris is the most talented QB I have ever seen at UNT. His release, accuracy and mobility put him ahead of all others.

The only question left is how he will perform in big games and can he stay healthy. That is something that has been lacking here for many years (big game performance, not health).

I'll take heat from this but I mentioned it in previous threads about Chandler Rogers so whatever. That guy performed great when games were out of reach. His greatest performances were comeback attempts that fell short. Electric? Yes. Could he consistently lead and sustain scoring drives early against good teams? No. He put us in huge holes with those first half performances. I can't say the same about Morris so far, minus the Tech game.

      Good Game for Caponi and the Defense

      Hats off to Caponi and staff for making adjustments. It was nice to see them mix up the different looks. The defense is improving and the offense has shown the ability to be explosive. Also, kudos to the special teams. Blocking punts, great returns, and hitting a FG. Nature is healing, we are 4-1.

      Fine, Rogers, Morris

      If Morris stays healthy he could be the most sought after QB in the country this offseason. Maybe the competition level curbs some of that? Until the rules change, getting one year of him is what to expect of someone playing at this high a level. Then it comes down to Eric Morris. He’s got to be getting noticed as one heckuva QB whisperer. QBs are gonna flock here to play for him, as a result. As to the original question, Morris is in his 5th season of college football and his best strengths, IMO, are his grasp of the offense and quick, accurate release. He’s a smart player and has the talent to match his rating coming out of high school. I would have loved to have seen Fine in a 5th year and not wasted in a bad offensive scheme change his final season. I’ve been around since the mid 90s, just missing Maher. Fine and Morris are the best that I’ve seen. Gotta let the season finish before I’d pick a winner.

      Good Game for Caponi and the Defense

      We have played almost exclusively man in our secondary the last two weeks. Rarely have we had an actual free safety and have not played two high at any point. Our coverage has been outstanding. And yes, we have started tackling and being physical. Out scheme is very simple, but that allows players to key fast. Sometimes we still don't fit correctly, but that will get better with film.

      My honest take

      People see big wins. Beat Memphis who suddenly looks vulnerable, beat Tulane, beat Army, win the conference, win a big bowl. Have a 2022 Tulane season. People will notice.
