This part concerns me.  It's not the first time I have heard about the PAC coming after AAC teams again with new tactics and offer$.   One article said if the court lowers the poaching fee penalty for the PAC to pay the MWC then they will use it to lure AAC teams again...

McMurphy on 365 sports-

-PAC is not targeting TX State at this time, thinks Pac will double back on AAC schools.

I feel like the MW is going to fight like it's their last breath to get the full amount agreed upon. These two conferences are basically at war with each other, there will be no concessions. The MW also has the luxury of time, as even if they don't have 8 teams in place when their teams leave, their 2 year exemption doesn't start until 2026.

MWC commissioner Gloria Nevarez got her law degree from UC Berkeley and also is married to a Cal Berkeley lawyer. Apparently she's one tough cookie and with her father being of Mexican descent and her mother a mix between Filipina and Irish, I bet she puts up one helluva fight.

This a fight for survival is also symbolic with the rest of the nation watching. Get your popcorn ready.

I didn't know she was a lawyer, yeah I bet they had the wording in that contract air tight. Haha that sounds like someone you don't want to mess with. She's been a powerhouse so far, I hope they take the PAC to the cleaners. Not just to keep the AAC safe, but for stabbing the MWC in the back after they agreed to help WOSU when they were in a bind.

Agree it’s a fight now.  It shouldn’t have come to this.
They could have all merged, under the PAC banner if they desired, and been the best  Western FBS conference.
Now they are talking of watering them both down with FCS move ups.
$tupid!

If things stay as they are in the AAC we come out better in all of this. These two conferences basically weakened each other.

Gloria has also won on the optics, going to the commish of targeted programs letting them know of her intent.

I think this is getting interesting because I do think some programs in AAC could get lured again. Us not one one of them. But Tulane and Memphis could be money whipped I would think.

The Texas State decision surprises me. I would think getting into a league with another Texas player and having UNLV, New Mexico, Reno and the Miners swing their basketball teams through San Marcos would be tempting. Head scratcher.

Don't discount the not wanting to be the only team in the Central Time Zone....playing teams in Mountain and Pacific time zones.

They'd be on a pretty far island by going to the MWC, so I could see why they wouldn't want to go. Plus they would get a $3M or so bump in money, but far more travel.
