Coach Saban just had a great segment on this and he’s right, you have to move NIL back to the AD’s.  That is the only way you can manage this monster and keep the playing field fair.  This won’t change that Texas and A&M will have gigantic NIL budgets but it will at least provide some oversight and clarity to what has become a mess.  It also removes the states from trying to advantage their flagships but enacting state laws that are more lax than the NCAA etc.  Saban has been a good ambassador for the sport in this dark chapter he is bringing a beacon of hope.

The sooner this happens, the sooner the boosters can go back to making their under-the-table payments. There will always be those who will feel the need to break any rules put in place.

What do the academies do about navigating NIL? Is it any different?

I am pretty sure they do not allow NIL deals. Found this --

The Pentagon won't allow service academies to participate in NIL. They also. don't use the transfer portal to obtain players.

And that’s when you bring in the death penalty and hammer the team and players hard!

Would be nice if every college held such high standards.
