Fla St. at #80.  What a free fall!

edit to add:  Has a school ever dropped off so drastically in such a short period of time?  Screwed out of a spot in the playoff one season and ranked #80 by the 4th week of the next season.  

Another thought:  What impact did getting bypassed for the playoff spot have on this?

More importantly, glad to see UNT moving up and hope it continues.

Boise St. At #25 in the AP poll? They’re 2-1 something’s wrong with this! They play Wash. State this weekend, let’s see how good they are then.

Good question.  2007 Michigan comes to mind after the App State loss.  Though I believe they ended up ranked by the end of the year.

Boise State went toe to toe with the current #8 team in the country, Oregon. Obviously a loss is a loss, but they showed that they’re a competitive team, at least in my opinion

They are out: 1 Texas, 2 SMU, 3 A&M, 4 Tech, 5 Texas State, 6 Baylor, 7 Sam Houston, 8 UNT, 9 TCU, 10 UTSA, 11 Houston, 12 Rice, 13 UTEP

I think they had like 30 players, and many starters, skip their Bowl game.   I think they also took a big hit in the Portal.

I tend to agree that being left out of the playoff as an undefeated team caused players to leave.  How many?  That’s the real question.  I don’t like Fla St, but I feel like Playoff Committee killed their football program…at least in the short term.
