If you were told in July we would start 3-1 with a beat down in Lubbock, I think 95% of us would take that in a second. 
 

We have 8 winnable games left. Memphis showed their ass yesterday losing to Navy. I predicted 8-4…..looks doable this morning.

And Tech spanked Arizona St. Yesterday. Hopefully we've figured this thing out. 4-1 looks very doable now then heading into a bye week.

And we’ve got FAU after the bye week so 5-1 heading into Memphis is a very real possibility. 
 

BUT it’s one game at a time so today we enjoy the feeling of a good win and a 3-1 start. Tomorrow, we get ready for Tulsa.

I'm happy for 3-1 with a loss against a P4.  But let's be honest, we saw weaknesses in the first 2 that were overwhelmed by the play of our offense, and those weaknesses were on full display at Tech.  This win is great.  No question about that.  But let's not overlook just how bad Wyoming is.

We play who’s on the schedule. The goal is to win as many as you can no matter how ugly it looks. Believe me, I complained about the ugly win against SFA. I found myself wanting to give anything for an ugly win against Tech. This is a good start for the team.
 

Hopefully, they can be even better moving forward with getting Gabe Blair back, acclimating to more 3-4 type defense. Very happy EM made a coaching decision to change up from the 3-3-5. It takes guts to realize what’s wrong and finally switch it up.

If the FCS school you’re referring to is Idaho, I am certain fans of Oregon (#9 in the country going into yesterday) still wonder how they struggled to put that now 3-1 FCS team away

And did I mention that Idaho beat Abilene Christian?  The same ACU that was a 2-point conversion away from beating Tech in OT

Yes, Wyoming is bad, but don't discredit the FCS Idaho team they lost to. The Vandals are 3-1 with its only loss being a close 24-14 game to Oregon. And they beat Abilene Christian by more points than Tech did.

Tulsa, @ FAU, East Carolina, and @ Temple should get us to seven... then just have to win ONE in the four-game stretch of @ Memphis, Tulane, Army, and @ UTSA. And so far that stretch this year isn't looking much like the guantlet it was last year!

One thing I think we can all agree on... there aren't three sure losses left on the schedule.

I have been a huge critic of the defense.  Last night and South Alabama give some hope— but consistency will be key.  We are still giving away 35.5 pts/game. 25.5 pts/game if you take out the TT game.  If we can get our total pts/game under 30 then we have a chance to do well and hopefully keep some of our players.

Spanked? If spanked means Tech beat Arizona State by a touchdown… The same Arizona State team that BARELY beat Texas State

3-1 is 3-1 no matter who you play. They don't put asterisks next to the wins. 

North Texas football hasn't won a trophy in a while -- since 2014 - jan-1st. I want a league title, and/or a bowl game win. This is a means to an end but I can enjoy the journey along the way.
