Reminder that we could and SHOULD have pursued coaches on the market with proven FBS HC success - Gary Patterson, Justin Fuente, Tom Herman, Barry Odom, Mark Mangino, ect. We didn’t. You reap what you sow.

Word was that we very much went after Fuente, but he wasn't interested.

I don’t understand why we can’t get a HC that runs anything other than the goddamn Shotgun all the time. Id like to see the Pistol and I-formation used. The Air-Raid is a garbage offense used to hide inefficiencies in talent that truly has only been perfected by one HC who has passed.

It’d also be nice to see someone get into it with officials, yell at players and ya know.. be a Head Coach. Not just try to be their friend like Littrell and Morris

When you pull your starter, you usually put in your #2 QB.  That's what we did.

Is the rest of our QB room so bad that a guy who never started QB is 2nd?

I wonder if Texas St., UTSA, and SMU feel this way.  They didn’t go that route with their hires and it’s worked out pretty well for them so far.

Yeah since Vance and Trump have taken those racist Facebook rumors mainstream there's been bomb threats at the Springfield schools and hospitals every day. Vance is a terrorist to his own constituents, so no, I won't lighten up. Now cut the shit before the mods start getting mad at me.

Quality coaches won’t be.   They can see the culture here isn’t going to allow them to be successful.

I guess if Mestemaker had gone to China Spring he would have been the starter there.

Maybe. Point is there were much surer bets out there for North Texas to hire if we were moving on from a (and I know this will trigger some) successful UNT coach in Littrell. Coaches that have proven to build much more complete looking teams than the one side of the ball focused mess that we are right now.

Considering all the chess pieces moving all over the board in FBS right now, a huge swing and a miss in our football leadership has the potential to be devastating to the program long term.

I’ll tell you what really needs to change…College football and the levels we play at. We don’t need to be playing at a level that we lose every single decent player each year to a dream power school, nor do we need to be playing schools that can double or triple or more our attendance and budgets.

So intramural?
