Can someone please write a very thorough and informative ChatGPT prompt about the history of NT Football coaching hires and ask AI to give a psychological profile of the UNT administration.  I think AI will mention, risk adverse, nepotism, favoritism, self-preservation, lack of accountability etc..

The culture here really isn’t “All In”.   Let’s consider we had SMU’s desire with our mediocre history.  THERE IS NO WAY we aren’t at least kicking the tires on bringing Coach Sanders here with two 5-Star players in tow.  There is a country club elitest "we don't have to do that" mindset around here.  Once upon a time we passed on Jim Harbaugh too I believe.

Being a big university in the state of Texas guarantees nothing.

You want to know a large part of the reason UTSA is laping us without +80 years of football history and a smaller student body.  Go to 2011

UNT hired - Dan McCarney, (4 years removed from a good tenure at ISU with 1 Division title and 0 Conference titles in 10 years)

UTSA hired - Larry Coker (4 years removed from a tenure at Miami that included 3 Conference title and a NATIONAL TITLE)

The resume of the UNT hire versus the resume UTSA hire tells you about the differences in culture and real aspirations.  It isn't bad luck, or student/alumni apathy, it is leadership.

Hell for me maybe it is a good thing our leadership is mediocre when it comes to aspiration.  Buying more club seats than I cannot really afford on credit card because a Coker, Harbaugh, Gary Patterson, Sonny Dkyes, or Deion Sanders comes to Denton.

That’s just it.  He did bring in players at our level.  THIS is our level. THIS is the level of players we can attract.

Our level is the AAC. UNT has the resources to put a football team on the field capable of playing at the level of our conference mates. We're not a broke G5 with a crap stadium and a dinky head coach salary any more.

It says after this game nobody on our team should get a dime of the NIL!

NIL means never having to do anything to earn the money. You're paid for being yourself, which you can't not be. It's got to be the sweetest check to cash in the world.

It was the right thing to fire Littrell, they just made a very poor hire after him. Just because the next hire is worse doesn’t make the previous one the right guy for the job

I never said I wanted to keep Litty.  I wanted him gone too.  What about the coach before him.  And the coach before that.   And that.  And that.  The coaches don’t really matter.

The original poster said ‘if we could figure it out’. we don’t have it figured out.  We haven’t had it figured out.  History says we’re probably not going to figure it out.

I guess I am hoping we are just not this bad. I am hoping we roll the rest of the season.

We may not roll, but we’ll be competitive.  This is one of those games.  Miss a >30 yard field goal.  3 interceptions in 4 possessions (or was it 3 in a row?).  It went from 14-7 with us in the red zone to 35-7 in the blink of an eye.

I’m not saying this was going to be a close game, because it didn’t appear that we would stop them, but 52-7 at halftime is, I don’t think, indicative of how they would normally beat us.

Im sorry but you cant possibly think keeping Littrell was the right thing to do regardless of anything else.

He was a .500 HC who ran a mess of a program, couldn’t win bowl games and after his first 3yrs couldn’t put together a winning season. He also didn’t care after he missed out on the Kansas State job after the 2018 season.

It was the right thing to fire Littrell, they just made a very poor hire after him. Just because the next hire is worse doesn’t make the previous one the right guy for the job

Part of me wonders if averaging 7-8 wins and a bowl game six out of seven years was the ceiling of this particular program at this time. Sure sounds great right about now.

May seem like a little thing….but he was interviewed by Dave Campbell Football and he’s not wearing UNT gear. That’s a simple way to show you have pride in North Texas. He’s the head coach.

all these little things…..

If he doesn’t care about this school,  how can he lead a team of players to be invested?

I completely forgot about that. He had very minimal UNT great hanging on the wall.

He needs to go. He doesn't want to be here, we don't want him here.

You know, for a former WR his receivers sure do drop a lot of balls. Ward in the first drive, two that led to turnovers, Conwright there on 3rd down and I think he had another catchable drop. Pretty sad.

Larry Coker isn't a success story for them. He went 26-32 and 15-15 in conference at UTSA. The Roadrunners are where they are because they hired Jeff Traylor, who didn't have a big-time resume of success before that. It was his first head coaching gig.

No, our level is the mid to bottom half of the AAC.   Teams at the bottom are there for a reason.  Teams at the top are there for a reason.  Our choices have and will continue to determine our position in that group.

I have a question that I do not know the answer to and I am hoping old heads, and when I say old head, I am meaning people over 55 because that's my age or UNT historians can tell me; have we ever had a head coach that was a UNT alumni?

This belly aching over NIL is pointless.  It is the state of the game.  If we knotted up in a tight game with Texas Tech right now we would have time to whine about NIL.  Every G5 has the same challenges.

He’s their SL hire. Then they made the right hire and are where they are. We’re still waiting for our Traylor hire. We missed it when Morris was chosen over Kinne.

Question, and correct me if i'm wrong.... Didn't TxSt hire Kinne over Morris before we were in the market and then we hired Morris? Or am I remembering that incorrectly?
