Throwing it back to the Dickey Days with these. Never thought we would wear the cursive script again, but I’m not mad at it.

Better wear the whole uniform if you’re bringing back the helmet.

I believe the team will be wearing generic black practice jerseys and pants to go with the helmets.

Note: As soon as we dropped that text from the helmets - we started losing.  Dickey's infamous "all black practice" look was with the current text North Texas uses.

Dickey might still be here is we hadn't changed the text!

Yeah I hated watching Cobbs, Jamario, back to back rushing champs, Quinn, Booger, Spencer, Awasom, Buckles, top 10 defense, hardly ever losing a conference game, that New Orleans Bowl win, blowing out Baylor at home, the NMSU game at Fouts, miracle in the desert, etc. too.....

That helmet brings back horrible memories

IDK if you're confused or just trying to be cute but I can separate the play from the aesthetics of what they played in. Alabama has a million titles but their look is boring and generic.

But I thought you had to change up constantly and use multiple color schemes to get players and keep them happy (sarcasm is 100% intended).

Unless you're so boring/generic it kinda rules.  Penn State is so 1940s basic throwback, I love it.

From 2001 - 2004 UNT was 4-20 in non-conference games. In those 24 games, UNT lost by an average score of 27.9 to 14.3.

P4 record: 1-10

G5 record: 2-10

FCS record: 1-0

Needless to say, there are plenty of bad memories....

I see why they are doing it. But I don't like those helmets.

My thoughts exactly.  I think it’s probably a good way to honor guys who played in those helmets.  But…I don’t care for them.

I can’t believe that my time in college is now considered a “throwback.”  That’s not possible. I’m not that old. 😂

Weirdly… I kinda like it. However, I hope it only comes out for this game and then goes away for a very long time again.
